Hi all, A friend of mine who lives in San Diego and I are planning our first trip to Catalina in the middle of June. We'll be bringing all gear, including drysuits, except tanks and weights and hopefully staying on the island. I found this thread, but it's been 10 years since it was updated...

My wife and I are DMs in Austin (and I'm part of several military brotherhoods). We sometimes dive in Stillhouse Hollow near the dive shop there (hopefully Paradise Divers is still open, it's been a couple of years). There's also a regular Lake Travis dive group made up of instructors, DMs...

Indeed we are, just wish we'd started earlier.

This second trip was so much better than the first one last November, mainly because this time we knew what to expect and the port stayed open. We flew into Cancun on our direct Austin->Cancun flight (not missing it this time) on Monday, March 18th morning then dove twice on Tuesday, Wednesday...

I looked for a thread on this and found one that's almost 5-years old. We have friends (couple, no children) who don't dive (it's a little sad) and love our stories, but we've only stayed at Villa Aldora. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It also depends where you're staying. I haven't been to The Dive Shop in San Marcos, because I live close enough to bring my own. I do like Duggan Dives.
