Deciding between Adelaide seadragons and New Zealand Poor Knight Island

Gidday' Both areas will be very cold, compared to Magnetic island- Nz would be cheaper to dive and stay, but it doesn't have leafy sea dragons. I would instead recommend Byron bay(shark dives) or fish rock at sw rocks, because the diving is very affordable $55/dive and you could party it up a...

What; that religion damages peoples ability to think rationally or not needing to put air in your BC to achieve weight neutrality in the dive environment???? so what is my issue??? What have I got wrong, or are you just going to goad me for offering my opinion? Please enlighten me! :(

    Am I evil?

If it was me- 1. No, I don't need too, I stay neutral in the water using my lungs as a BC devise. If you get perfectly weighted and practice so that you can control your breathing, you could do that too.....someday! 2. No, your not, your just delusional or confused or traumatized- doesn't...

    Shore dives in Thailand

Try the headland at surin beach, and the close to shore island off kata beach(north side headland) good skin-diving at times of good viz (feb-march)- wear a full exposure suit as you'll get burnt and marine stingers.

Which lense to start DSLR underwater photography?

The nikon 35mm 1.8 will be the easiest lens to use straight up, good in ambient light if you have no strobe and is pretty cheap to buy and useful on land- especially coming from a point and shoot- great for portraits of other divers and fish. On an aquatica ad7000 there is no vignetting using it...

ss Yongala and Navy Pier? Why are the operators charging so much!!!!

Yes, Queenslanders are quite squirrelly about their diving. Apart from making regular friends and asking if they have other friends that dive, your gunna find it a case of your the "Billy no mates". Keppel Island is your only hope! Catastrophic Failure - How much weight to drop? Theoretical Discussion

failure number 1- just swim up using ure fins as you get up you'll become neutral on the surface and you'll still have your lead weights. failure number 2 - swim up, suckling the air from your bcd as it expands ascending using the mouthpiece and release button as you need a breath- yes! you...

question for those with a reg on bcd hose

I dive a wing with a shorter then standard hose as I find it simpler/less cumbersome to use- I attach it to my top left D-ring and only really use it to inflate (or to deflate on the surface), preferring my bottom right valve for trimming bouyancy as I ascend. The bungee necklace for the...

Pining over the state of diving, including how it affects soloing

The most interesting thing to me in that lill' presentation is how the BSAC "present" the numbers to promote their organizations role in diving administration and access to government/public funding(it's links to insurance companies)- somebody 'must' be creaming off something- whether it's coin...

    Wicked diving or manta queen

I would try and do the Advanced open water course before you do a liveaboard, as you might miss out on a few of the dives on offer due to cert card limitations. Have a look at South Siam 3 & 4 as well, you ride a speedboat out there instead of a long chug out in slow boats. South Siam 4 (SSD4)
