    Navy Admits Sonar Use

but these new technologies make old sonar look like a model-T next to a late model Ferrari. On the other hand - I work closely with a lot of people in the military and I can't see them NOT raising objections if they thought these strandings were attributable to operational manuvers. I honestly...

Recent dives on St. Thomas and St. Maarten

It really is hit or miss... I have been diving in St. Thomas where vis was 4-5 feet (usually after heavy rains where the muddy water settles on the coral forcing the coral to ooze, whcih turns into a lot of white mucky stuff in the water), but at other times the vis can be 80+. Usually vis is...

    Yellow Tang in Florida?!?!?!

It's unlikely that the fish were let go... rather it's more likely that a pair mated and the small fry were washing into the ocean during a aquarium water change.

Goofy Questions about the Bay Islands

Alright folks... I've got a question for residents of the Utila, Roatan, and Guanaja: I want to go diving there but my GF doesn't dive. Are the beaches mostly white sandy beaches or what? She says you guys have pythons, boas, and salt-water crocs... is this true?

    Attack

We had something like this happen in the BVI's about ten years ago but with Sea Urchins. One year there were a normal amount and the next there were thousands and pretty much all of the very shallow (less than 30 feet) coral was eaten. After a year or two went by the sea urchin population...

    Divers getting bent

I poorly worded my response to that matter, I should have said something along the lines of what you said... in reality, it's about survival and to most folks that are willing to go to the extremes that were mentioned at the start of this thread, its about getting food on the table today and...

    Divers getting bent

this is a good and noble idea, me thinks we would see the equipment turn up on ebay. Countries like Nicaragua have no interest in sustainable living unless 'sustainable' means they will have enough for this week.
