HOG D1 Exhaust cover popped off

I dove five or six times without it without issue. I believe the only purpose of the piece missing is to help direct exhalation bubbles away so that they don't intrude your view, also for making service on that diaphragm easier

HOG D1 Exhaust cover popped off

Hi, during a night dive in Key Largo last week the exhaust diaphragm cover to my HOG D1 second stage must have come off, and I didn't notice it until the next morning, so any chance to go find it on the boat was gone. It's the slide-on plastic bit that covers the exhaust diaphragm. Where can I...

Check out HOG gear. I've had it in the conditions you've described and it performed flawlessly.

    Control freak dive buddies

I can 100% be a "control freak" on a dive, I'll admit it. I usually have a "you lead the way" attitude, and sometimes that ends up with me checking my compass constantly and picking my buddy up from around on the reef. If you're LAYING ON THE REEF, I'll happily pick your ass up off of it and...

How many people have had to use their knife/cutting tool while diving

Let's see, I've been HOOKED by monofilament 2 times. I've had to cut a jellyfish that had wrapped all the way around my arm off. I still have a scar from that sting. I've cut roap from boat props in a 6" vis lake (I don't EVER want to do that again)

    Spearfishing Spots in Destin

I'm looking to spear some medium sized fish in the Destin area next weekend. Does anyone know the best spots in Destin for this. Preferably somewhere shore accessible.

Sea life lens cap, key largo, French reef

I'll be down there Sunday diving both of those sites. If I see it (would be a 1/100,000,000, nothing short of miraculous) I'll let you know Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    New Scuba Diving Website

Not bad. If what I gather from a quick browse from the site, it's sort of a SCUBA-blog-review type thing for you. One thing I can tell you from working on tons of websites and media, UPDATE CONTENT REGULARLY. Keep on a solid schedule for releasing content, and if you can't do that, you'll lose...

Please read these 2 sides of the story and help me pick a better shop next time

Oh, didn't see the part about this just being 2 reviews. I keep to my post though Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Please read these 2 sides of the story and help me pick a better shop next time

Sounds to me like the OP is 100% in the wrong. 1. For not taking a refresher course 2. For not making others take a refresher course after not diving for 35 YEARS (that decision is just plain STUPID, and could have put someone's life in danger) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

hard vs soft weights using a weight integrated bcd

Try your best to keep the majority of your weights above the waste line. Or else you will probably end up with hips down trim

    Get them feet up!

I didn't sew them. I weaved them in to the webbing through the spaces on the weight. Then I webbed the harness to the Backplate again. And yes, I am using a donut wing. The HOG 32 lb singles wing Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Pearl I3 or Lotus I3??? Suggestions????

Or, a BP/W? BP/W systems are fit to YOU and no one else. Plus you don't get an uncomfortable "hug" like from other models, but you get the same function. Plus, it's a modular system, so it will grow with you as you gain experience Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Pearl I3 or Lotus I3??? Suggestions????

If you'd like a back inflate, why the i3 system? It's not hard at all to get air out of a back inflate in just about any orientation, as the bubble is much less spread around the BCD, unless you NEED to buy the i3, if it was me, I'd buy the back inflate without. Sent from my iPad using...

    Leaky Low Pressure Inflator Hose

The LPIH that came with my HOG 32Lb singles wing is giving off a very steady champagne bubble leak from the fitting connecting to the inflator. It seems to only happen underwater, and after I press the inflator button. Not sure what may be causing this, but I'm fairly sure the O-Ring within the...

    Get them feet up!

Won't be diving until next week, if I can get some pool time in between I'll be sure to work something out. It was to get my torso down, but not my head. My head was at the angle it needed to be, but not my torso. I found that with smaller weights in the webbing I can bring my torso down to...
