    AL80 Tank ID: Catalina?

I'd like to hear more on this one... it was my understanding that the 6351's were marked with an "SP" or "E" number. According to my book, Walter Kidde did use 6351 prior to December 1989. Yours is 11/88 so 6351 alloy is possible/probable ??? but why the "3AL" DOT marking? I hope someone...

    St. Eustatius (Statia) Recommendations?

Thanks, I had to change gears and book Belize (Ramon's) due to Statia's COVID rules. Hopefully, a change will be not long-off.

    Belize Dive Haven

Dan, thanks again for that info. I decided on Ramon's in mid-June. Looking forward to the trip. Jim

Great report...great photos, thank you for that!

    Belize Dive Haven

Thanks, I saw that their trip was canceled. In fact, reading those posts made me think about Dive Haven in place of Ramon's Village. It's strange that neither one has replied to my emails...you would think that their "customer service" would be at an elevated state, hoping to draw in...

    Belize Dive Haven

The last thread on this resort is over a year old, so I'd like to ask if anyone has been there since the re-opening. I'm trying to decide on this place vs. Ramon's Village. It looks from last years posts that Dive Haven was still under construction and I'm wondering how far they've come with...

    Sealife 3.0?

I went with the 2.0 because of the large "piano" keys...easy to operate with thick cold water gloves. Same with the 3.0.

    Planning first trip to Roatan

Here's a photo of a power pole in West End. The power went out almost every day that I was there but it was very bad weather in October/November. I'd guess hat you should be OK in July.

    St. Eustatius (Statia) Recommendations?

I'll look into it...(splitting time between St Maarten was exactly my plan!) Thanks for the tip.

    St. Eustatius (Statia) Recommendations?

I think that this little island is my next stop after the travel restriction loosen up. It looks like only 2 dive shops on the island and just about 100 hotel rooms (maybe a private vacation rental would be good if I could find one). I'm also concerned about the Win-Air flight from St Maarten...

    Planning first trip to Roatan

I was in West End in November for 2 weeks. ATM's looked sketchy...I never used one. Everyone takes US dollars but most will give you local currency as change back. I never had any problem with being fleeced on the exchange rate. As "Scrane" said above the gas station ATM did have a guard...

    Mystery Regulator

Probably just a "hoax" poster. First post, rude and demanding etc. If not, identify the reg by serial number (certainly you'd have this for testing, right?) then we can arrange for a prepaid shipping label, packing box and materials and a small and reasonable handling fee. Good going on your...

Trip Report Cenote Trip Report: Playa del Carmen, December 2020-January 2021

A small question for past Cenote divers.... how long is the average road trip from Playa del Carmen hotels to the Cenote dive spots? A 2 hour overland, bad road journey would be a killer for me.

    Sherwood Sage vs. Sherwood Beacon

Bought the Sage for $349....I think it was a great deal.

How do I use a Sensorcon with a Scuba tank?

Here's the method that I think works best. To prevent blowing high pressure air into the sensor and possibly damaging it, I put the sensor in a 1 gallon zip-lock bag, open the bag slightly and flow a SLOW stream of air from the tank to inflate the bag. Close it up...let the sensor do its thing...

    Sherwood Sage vs. Sherwood Beacon

I see that Sage offered now for $349 and the Beacon is over $900. Anyone know the big difference in these two? TFT vs. Oled display? Both seem to be air-integrated, digital compass and Blue-Tooth dive logs.

    New coltri MCH3

I've got a gas powered MCH6, I wouldn't want to drop to a lower CFM than that....but that's only one man's opinion. (Perfectly happy with the Coltri, though.)

    About Coltri.....

My LDS has two Coltri's , one electric, one gasoline... he's been operating those for 3 years with no problems. I purchased a gasoline powered MCH6 for personal use using it for trips to remote mountain lakes. Fits the bill perfectly.
