    Fiona Sharp death in Bonaire

Anybody have any more info about Fiona Sharp being found unresponsive on the reef? Deep solo dive, found on top of the reef unresponsive with the loop out of her mouth.

O2 better than 50% for single deco gas dives?

Diving 20/80 is like diving VPM, a silly idea.

O2 better than 50% for single deco gas dives?

Who in the hell dives 20/80? That’s a terrible idea.

    Carry stage like side mount

In caves, I'll sidemount my first two bailouts on CCR. Bailout plumbing aids the concept. Anything more than one a side and any benefit quickly goes away. If I'm doing a bunch of gas switches it's not worth the added hassle, and I'm gonna have more tanks anyway which ruins the concept so it's...

    New rEvo BOV

I'm assuming you have redundant inflation on both wing and drysuit from offboard bailout?

    Rescue or ???

That's the point. If it requires that much bull**** to find yourself in a situation based on your rescue diver certification, the argument that you would avoid getting the certification to cover your legal bases is silly.

    Rescue or ???

Gabe Watson was tried and convicted in Australia for the death of his wife. Depending on whose story you believe he was either grossly incompetent, or murdered his wife. Assuming gross incompetence, that's at least one case of a non-professional having criminal charges brought against them for...

Rebreather as bailout for sat divers

Recent Opinions On Air Integrated Computers For Technical Diving

They're unreliable, prone to failure, not because of an o-ring, because they're poorly built, fragile, and all kinda lame. I've had probably 6 or 7 fail in differing ways. I've had one, singular, normal SPG fail in the same time period over the past 10 years. Use the transmitters by themselves...

Dremel Tool use and accessories in Dive Center Service Department

Dremels suck. What you really want is a Foredom motor, either one of the Flexshaft series or the micromotors. See here: 230 Volt-Int'l Models | FOREDOM That's the international voltage version. They don't suck like Dremel tools do.

    New rEvo BOV

Making comparisons to old, obsolete equipment isn't a great selling point. Compare it to a Golem Shrimp or Divesoft BOV, both of which are by far the most popular aftermarket BOV's. BTW the Golem mimics the diaphragm of the Kirby Morgan BOV pretty well, without having to use the pod system...

    DIY lightweight Goodman strap.

Suggestions? Yeah, don't. If you're married to the idea of a soft goodman handle, get the Oxycheq Light Raider light sock. Every other soft goodman handle sucks. Even better is a hard goodman handle, because you can easily switch hands to complete tasks without having terrible light discipline.

    Trying to understand cylinder sizes

It's because you're overthinking it (on purpose?). You're getting hung up on what you have perceived as the important aspect, the "water" part, when it's entirely material agnostic. An AL80 is 11 units big. It holds 2200 units when it's filled to what's marked on the side of the tank. You...

    New rEvo BOV

Hey *****canoe, you should test the rEvo BOV. Throw it in a plastic bag with an iPhone, that should be good enough for your next pdf.

Recent Opinions On Air Integrated Computers For Technical Diving

Button gauges are even less reliable than transmitters. Of course you should get rid of the lollipops because curb feelers are super lame, but if you're gonna go with transmitters, just go with the transmitters. If you have a failure you're turning the dive anyway, what do you think you're gonna...
