Why would you not buy a Draeger Dolphin?

So what kind of money are we looking at to find a rebreather that does that?

    breathing device on bp/w?

There is nothing to stop you from putting an air2 on a wing. Like radinator said, you need a second regulator anyway.

    solo diver is better?

What am I missing? You stated AG's monitor incident,(that's 1) I can't access the link on decostop but what was the other name involving a successful rescue of a toxing diver?

    solo diver is better?

You original post said they were rescued. I know of others that weren't too. How many actually rescued. AG's incedent is the only I have heard of. Pretty small scale to build a whole argument on eh? You imply the danger of solo diving is not having a buddy to rescue you if you tox. That seems a...

Why would you not buy a Draeger Dolphin?

I have been looking at the same thing. From what I can see a dolphin can be had for about 2k but a kiss can be bought for about 4k. At least if I decided I hated rebreathers I wouldn't be out too much.] Training seems to be alot less for the dolphin too.

    Old old reg

Thanks for all the help guys. I do own 'modern' dive gear as well but I have always liked antiques of all kinds so as a diver, it is natural to want to try the old stuff out. I was amazed to read that Peter Gimbel dove the Andrea Doria in 1956 with the gear available at the time. That seems...

    Used Whites Drysuit

I am not sure what it stands for but it has to do with medical supplies. Many generic medical items have that designation.

    Old old reg

I bought a da aquamaster a while back on ebay and showed it to my friend. He says "I have a 2 hose reg you can have". His (now mine) is aqualung has a blue label riveted to the casing and just says Cousteau Gagnan process but no model # Compared to the aquamaster it breaths harder on the...

need an answer to this question

I believe astronaughts use a 1/4 ata pressure in the space suit on pure O2. They have to go though a deco profile of some sort before donning the suit This gives a po2 of .25 and a lot less pressure on the suit.

    Used Whites Drysuit

Use unscented talc. I actually use USP foot powder which has no scent or additives at all. It also works well for latex seals BTW jonnythan the catalyst is not bilam, They call it quadflex and it is a 4 layer shell. The MSRP is about $2200 in Canada.

    artificial reefs at Whytecliff

I think you need a way to raise a couple of $100K then buy an old ship. HMCS Huron should be available soon. Then several thousand man hours to strip and environmentally clean, then ocean dumping permit, then insurance, then.... It's a great idea but I understand it's a much bigger undertaking...
