    7 day x 30min Cardio Challenge!!!!!

That's where a spa kicks in, relax in one after a workout :) Unfortunately I'm replacing the pump on mine, won't finish it until later today, so I didn't get to use it yesterday (exercycle again -- rowing machine this evening)

What to pay for Nitrox cert?

My experience was the same as Carhill's -- did it pretty cheap as a resort course, packaged with Nitrox for the week.

Snorkel - anyone still wear theirs diving?

Not much debate because this is one of the beat-to-death topics. Agency standards exist due to an accumulation of best practices. There are plenty of examples in the Accidents and Incidents forum where at the end of the day you can trace things to not following fundamental training. For the...

Snorkel - anyone still wear theirs diving?

Yes. It definitely depends on the dive. I have an Aqualung flexible snorkel, it doesn't get in my way overall, and rolls up into a little holder in my BC pocket if I want to remove it. Handy for looking at da fish at the end of a dive, or if I have a surface swim.

    Pony Bottle

I went with a 19, which I've brought on 3 vacations, been glad to have it. I use a QuickDraw mount, also like it. The 19 fits in my dive bag cleanly, for air travel, but a 30 would be just enough larger to be a bit difficult. My Instructor has a 30, I've never actually seen him use it...

    Lost diver in Puget Sound

Anyone wishing to do rescues should take a Rescue class by whatever organization they choose to train under, and please follow what is taught in that class concerning limits. I have to admit, the death of a diver is always sad, but this thread has been pretty unique in terms of the emotion...

I'd suggest sending it to someone up North (hmm, New York is North), remove the problem :)

    7 day x 30min Cardio Challenge!!!!!

30 min on the exercycle this morning an OK start? An hour later today (combining this with stopping smoking)

    I'm going to quit smoking!

Did you get the herbal cigarettes? For me nothing seems the safest route. (nothing other than pills and patches, that is :) ) Good luck!

    DIY Weight pouches

The only DIY that I really like is my tank holder -- I'm fully competent at cutting up pool noodles and stuffing rope through them. Even use stainless steel washers to keep the rope knots from pulling though.

    DIY Weight pouches

Totally understandable. I actually use a standard 4lb tank weight, plus weight pouches. (the pouches are when I need to balance my pony). At $9, the XS pouches are cheap compared to most scuba items.

Doubles Tanks Must Have Same Height???

Do they also have to be assembled with a lefthand wrench? (I don't dive doubles, but never heard of the special-factory-order line before -- something smells fishy. Same basic size/height is one thing, but special factory order?)
