Shallow dive of say 30-40' about 500psi should do it with a three minute safety stop. If I'm diving a ship at around 100-120' I go up at around 1000psi. This gives me time for a two minute stop at 50', 30' and a three minute stop at 15'. I generally have a surplus of air at this rate.

80 degrees = no wetsuit necessary but some people have a habit of getting cold easily so you might want to wear a 2-3mm shorty. Hood and booties are a waste of time and money in the Keys.

How about an aluminum back plate and a horsecollar? Very little weight and uses a minimum of lead. On shallow dives you can get by with a smaller air tank also. Combine this with warm water diving, not needing a wetsuit, and you are home free. Of the dive shops I dive out of in the Upper Keys...
