Sure it's possible but it's simpler to just go to Walmarts and buy some anti-motion sickness pills for around three dollars and then you won't have to worry about it.
I've noticed over time that a lot of the people who die while diving or after diving are in their late 40's and 50's. I've always figured that it was bad physical conditioning or maybe an unnoticed heart condition. I had an uncle of mine many years ago who seemed to be in good shape sorta go...
Beats me. Don't know what you mean by 'off the beaten path' but Islamorada is about 20 miles up the road and Tavernier about 30. Not many roads in the Keys let alone off the beaten path. Probably every reef worth diving has been dove to death around there.
Conch Republic and Capt Gary are located in Taverier if I remember correctly, about ten miles north of Islamorada. Key Dives, at about the 80 mile mark at Islamorada, is a good outfit to do certs with.
I suspect if Wildlife gets enough complaints about the same bunch of jerks fishing or boating close to a dive area that they might do something about it, though I doubt it. They seem to be more interested in DUI's than anything else. An easy arrest and more money to be made I suspect. A 12 gauge...
Makes you wonder doesn't it? Here I'm 72 and in rotten shape but still diving. Every time I jump off of a boat I think it might be my last time. That's the breaks.
Ozwald: Thank you for the compliment. What you don't understand is that I never raised any rugrats or stayed married long enough to consider worrying about the outcome if I died all of a sudden and all my siblings have gone to Valhalla. No one would ever benefit or have financial problems if I...
The one and only time I dove in what might be termed 'cold' water was in the Upper Keys in 60 degree bottom water on the Eagle off of Islamorada in February a few years ago. First dive I used a 3mm, legless, armless shorty with a 3mm vest. No hood and no booties but with thin gloves because of...
You get what you pay for and buyer beware are absolutely tools you need when looking for a room anywhere near the beach around Ft. Laud. Try hotel.com and pray.
When I was age 32 I took up flying and sky-diving. I don't know how the life insurance found out about it but they tripled my premium. Of course, I cancelled the policy right away and have never had life insurance since then except for a two thousand burial pay out from the union I belonged to...
Buy your own personal regulators, take them with you when you travel. Problem solved. If you do have a free-flow you should have been taught to breathe off of a reg while it is free-flowing. Depending on how deep you are you should be able to get to a three minute stop. Another good idea is to...
