I'm trying to figure out where the Guage mode is on the stinger. It seems that I can move between AIR and NITROX but no guage .... I'm guessing that I'm ment to use the FREE mode, as I believe that gives me depth and time info, is this correct?

Just went to the Suunto site and they list...
My wife has one too, and no problem at all, works great. I have the stinger and love it, looks great, wear it on the weekends - oh and it's great underwater too.
I want to use my Stinger in Guage mode and I'm not sure how to do it. Does it mean that I should set it to be on FREE for free diving ? I've used this before and I believe it give you time and depth and nothing more, which sounds like what I would need. Just wanted to check is this the right way...
Well that trip was cancelled thanks to my boss, but am planned to go in January. My friends went and yes they dived the turtle caven.
they dived twice each day at Sipadan and once some where else.
they said it was a good trip, look forward to my chance to go there.
Well spotted Sean, yes I have only dived warm water around Asia so sometimes don't even need a wet suit or skin.
the only time I tried water that was "cold" was in a aquarium in Melbourne, Australia - damn cold like 18 degrees C. Wore a 7mm for that. And was still cold.
Thanks for the feedback, I was kind of holding off on buying a computer until after the show - just incase anything new came out that would address my multi-gas needs.
Still seems like the Explorer is the way to go... thanks
I'm thinking about getting an Explorer for use on both AIR, Nitrox and Deco dives and then in the future (next year) trimix diving. It will be my second computer, and the main reason I wish to get it is to give me the second opinion and for calculating deco when I do multi level diving.
I...
Simple Question 1
How would a diver that is new to multi gas and deco decide which way to go? To use RGBM or not? Is seems that the board is split, some use it some don't. Also the computer used (if any) can influance the decision it seems.
Best computer would be a water proof Macintosh .. but Apple hasn't released it yet!!
But best computer for multi gas could be the Explorer or the VR3 depends on what is important to you.
Single gas - Suunto Stinger rocks, looks great and performs both under and over the water. You can play...
this is what I did as well, realised there was a better way to do it and changed. Not everyone like this but a high level of safety is important to me and this sort back up and long hose IS (for me) the best solution.
But each to their own.
One thing that I forgot to add to the list was a new set of force fins the ones with the wiskers... they would be way cool. Nice hard , stiff fins that are really powerful but strong enough to push off things if needed and can do hover and reverse kicks.
I'm thinking about what I should save up for next and was wondering what you thought might be the next important piece to add to my kit.
I'm currently diving singles with a BP, I'm starting my deco course in a weeks time.
I'm thinking about :
Canister light
Deco computer (Explorer)
