    Solo diving

Don't give up looking for someone to dive with. I've had some success with divebuddy.com. It takes some work but you could probably develop a good network eventually.

    Obnoxious boaters suck!

Tell me about it. I wish we could have a discussion board that required people to use their real name (not a handle) and have a photo of themselves as a profile photo. That would discourage attack comments since they would no longer be anonymous. And to the posters that think the boater was...

    Support your local Dive Operators

One of the problem is most divers don't actually dive or dive very little. I was chatting with some guy at the Aqua Trek dive shop the other day and he said 89% of divers never dive even ONCE after they complete their open water. (I'll speculate the statistic is from SSI's marketing research.)...

"Diving industry in freefall." When you destroy the middle class they have less money for adventures like diving. No doubt the ultra rich aren't noticing while they dive from their personal yachts and beachfront properties. Let them eat cake.

    Hard hat diving in Texas

SB thread with link to video: http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/vintage-equipment-diving/456952-hard-hat-diving-video.html Interesting. I wonder how much they'd charge to do it for one dive to experience it.

Comal River Status for Saturday 6/1/13?

I contributed some silt stirring myself that's for sure.

Tank recertification in Dallas/Fort Worth area?

Your first question was address directly to me but I can't really say much about the technical details about the tests. I'm not qualified to perform them that's for sure. I'm just a guy who's trying to get his tanks filled so I can go dive. All I know is the hydro is required every five years...

Comal River Status for Saturday 6/1/13?

It was a good day. The quality of the vis was less than was hoped but it was still fun. If your interest is observing wildlife I'd recommend staying away from the Comal until school is back in session. The large number of tubers stirred up lots of silt apparently.

    Let your voice be heard

Shark meat is edible. (I've had a few steaks that were good.) If they harvest a shark they should at least be required to use the entire animal and not cut off the fins and toss everything else back in. What a ridiculous waste that is. And I think the population should be monitored so they don't...

    New Braunfels parking regulations

Any street anywhere near the Union and Lincoln river exit has one of these signs. Presumably you can't get a parking tag unless you are a resident of the town.
