Is it possible to haul a single cylinder worth of scuba gear, suit included on a motorcycle. If so, has anyone ever done this?

If you don’t have a car it might be a solution, not a safe one for western standards. Pretty sure you won’t enjoy the bike ride, so if you would do it to combine hobby’s then you will be disappointed.

    MALTA - Logistics

My wife and me did visit Malta when we only had like 100/150 dives. We did rent our tanks and appartement true maltaqua, they where very helpful. They did contact someone to rent a car, the trunk was ready for dive gear and the price and service was very nice. When you go pick up your tanks...

I have a yoke cyclinder. And a din regulator. Is there anything I can buy to convert my actual cylinder to a din.

It’s common, in Europe atleast, that you can screw a small part out of your valve to make it fit for din.

If I dive at 150ft+/45m+ in water temps in 35f/-1c can I get away with a cheap $100 Xs octopus. Or should my octopus also be balanced at that depth

If you dive in those temperatures you need more redundancy then an octo, you need 2 first stages. Doubles, SM or atleast a H-valve. A free flow isn’t that uncommon at freezing temps.

    Flying with a JJ

Hello, If everything goes according to plan, I’ll travel to Florida next spring. It will be my first time flying with a rebreather. Are there people who have a nice way to transport a JJ? Most info I can find is like 8 years old, so I’m wondering if it’s still relevant or if there are better...

6 Tips to improve Buoyancy & Trim

It might be 80 or 75 but it’s way more then 50%. Most divers over here are Nelos (national part of Cmas) and flutter kicking is the way to go. It’s impossible to do that 50cm above the floor without ruining the visibility. It’s not a skill issue it’s more a “I don’t give a F” issue or like...

6 Tips to improve Buoyancy & Trim

You are right but sadly enough many divers and instructors don’t care. In belgium 5m visibility is a good day, so we all dive close to the bottom. There is still 90%+ that flutters and leaves more dust then a rally car.

Do not ever say you are a rescue diver

The people who introduce themselves as DM are mostly the new divers. In my experience they stop doing that once they know how to dive.

Why did Horse Collar BC's fade away?

The Scubapro masterjacket qualifies as a lifejacket aswell iirc. I guess that you take your parachute with you if you go on a commercial plane aswell? Imagine the plane goes down and you don’t have one with you.

People embarrassed to do pre dive buddy check?

IT doesn’t happen often that I dive with people I don’t know, but why would I let a stranger touch my valves etc? Thanks but I do my own checks since I trust myself more. 😅

Has anyone ever been a "victim" of a Remora?

I don’t think the Remora was attacking the diver, it was trying to save the diver. She is wearing splitfins, very dangerous!

Why did Horse Collar BC's fade away?

I’m not old enough to have them experienced. How are they to carry a few stages and scooters? Isn’t it annoying for your long hose?

Why did Horse Collar BC's fade away?

You both have valid points but you don’t understand each other… Safety is important for everyone but not everyone has the same limit. Like for some people it might be important to have a bcd that works as a life jacket, for others it’s meaningless because the change they need it is to small...

Should I wear a snorkel or not

It might help for moving true kelp but it’s very annoying if you hit stuff with it in caves. For some stuff it might be useful for other it’s useless, like so many things it’s a personal choice you make according to your dive plan. Just spending a lil more and buy a rebreather instead of a...

Cave diver drowns - Jackson Blue Springs, Florida

The difference is that at some point more people have seen the ship and traveled with it. People like different things. Some like reefs some like rocks, do you know that there are people who don’t even like to dive?

    Quickest path to deco diving?

The problem with Cmas is that it is runned by old people that are so sure they discovered diving ages ago and there isn’t a way to improve. It is not because it works that there isn’t a better/safer way.

How are gas prices and inflation going to affect your diving?

Gas prices over here are like 10$ a gallon, luckily work pays for it. It doesn’t affect my diving 😀

Question Agency vs instructor selection (Netherlands)

If I remember correct Alain Dobbelaere teaches SM. I have met a few divers who did other courses with him and where happy about them. SM divers are rare in the Benelux since there aren’t many spots where you need it.
