    Tool Questions

As an aside, I have seen scuba shops "torquing" tank valves using a big wrench and a hammer. I was horrified. But a woman I know that used to own a scuba shop says they do it this way all the time. This is a perfect application for a crow's foot and a big torque wrench in my opinion.

    Tool Questions

There are tables available that have the torque delta for various size crow's feet. We used them in the Navy. Perpendicular access wasn't usually an option.

    Diver Signaling Equipment...

Geometry is just not enough to aim a mirror or CD. Give it a try (I have) Find a nice reflective traffic sign. Now go about 1/2 mile down the road. Aim at the sign and flash it. When you hit it, you will know, because it will light up. Try with a CD. Try with a real signal mirror like a Rescue...

    Is 130 ft too deep?

Where'd you come up with this? I thought the most recent DAN incident report indicated the most DCS and fatalities occurred at 60-80ft.

    Is 130 ft too deep?

Well, you're right about close calls, but I don't think it's because there aren't enough guidelines in the books and training. After all, we had the same books as everybody else. Perhaps they never listened to their mothers. Moms teach you not to follow other people doing stupid things...

    Is 130 ft too deep?

This is really a silly assertion. My wife and I were certified this spring and only have a few dozen dives. But it doesn't take much brainpower to decide where not to go. It's called survival instinct. No overhead, no deeper than 60', no no-bottom diving, no wreck penetration and no caverns...

    New Regulator Setup

Also, the first stage *may* have one of the LP ports marked "pri" or some such language to indicate it is the best flowing port. If so use that one for the primary 2nd stage. Otherwise just use what is most convenient.

    Best Octos! Suggestions???

All the Atomic stuff is up Nitrox factory ready for up to 40% Nitrox. The M1 is factory ready for up to 50% and can go to 80%. I don't think there's any difference between the Ti2 and B2 as far as the 2nd stage is concerned other than the logo on the purge cover.

Other than a torus bladder, I would second the Brigade. Then get the optional back pad.

    Air 2, dangerous octopus??

So are you trying to say that if it was just a manual inflator that free-flowed, you would disconnect it and continue your dive since you have would still have an octo?

First jellyfish encounter: skins essential from now on

    Knife for harness

Why don't you just mount your squeeze lock on your harness? A few quick pokes with a soldering iron will get you nice holes you can mount on. That's how I did mine. It's on 2" webbing that's on the front of my BC.

    Air2 or Octo

My Zeagle BC came with a manual inflator and LP hose. (Which the shop inadvertently forgot to deliver until I reminded them about it.) But, if you buy a brand S BCD with an brand S Air2 attached, it may come straight from the mfg with no manual inflator supplied. I've got the manual parts in the...

OK, hover within a few inches is believable. I just wasn't seeing how absolutely motionless could work.

    safety stop..how deep?

I'm not hostile, I'm awed. Please explain this to me. I've taken calculus based physics and have a good understanding of bouyancy. F=MA and if the bouyancy changes, the force changes and you will accelerate either up or down. The extra mass of double steel tanks probably helps to reduces...
