The area I'm referring to is south of Blue Angel and north of Villablanca.

There's a great little reef between Blue Angel Resort and Villablanca Hotel (about 1.5 miles south of the ferry pier). They'll let you shore dive from Blue Angel without a DM.

Blue Angel is about 1.5 miles south of the ferry pier. The sidewalk is nice, and it is an easy and relaxing walk from town. I recently stayed at Safari Inn (next to McDonald's downtown) and walked to Blue Angel each day. It took about 30 minutes.

Not sure about temp or viz, put I heard something to the effect that DNR had the Diver's Ramp closed, something about stocking fish. Anyone planning on using the ramp (before spring) may wish to check with DNR or the folks at Devil's Fork State Park. I'll be there in mid-May!

I made 39 dives on that little reef in 2007, and probably 25 more in 2008. I dearly love to kneel down beside a coral head and just wait to see what starts moving around, something I can't do on boat dives. Heck, it takes several dives just to find out where the resident octopus is sleeping...
