I own a zoop, have been told it has a gauge mode, have asked Chris @suunto about this elusive gauge mode and his response is that it doesn't exist. Where is gauge mode on the zoop?
I ask because I upgraded to a vyper air this year and (not to disagree with your earlier statements because I...
I had never seen the ocean look like a sheet of glass until the ride in this afternoon. The boats wake was drastically larger than the swells. 60-80' vis, and warm waters with plenty of critters. This is my first time here, definitely not my last.
I wear a 7 mil a lot. I am very cold sensitive, and the 7 mil suit is the winner for me. With that said I also wear either a Lycra jump suit or a rash guard under my wet suit because it makes donning and doffing my wet suit so much easier. I also really like the sun protection when spending...
I still consider myself a diving student. I have more experience than many but far less than others. With that said in my professional life I am a trainer and consultant (not diving related).
I have found that it is the experienced and trained individual that is more likely to become...
Vieque, what dates are you there? We are headed in for our first cruise in Nov. I think the 9th through the 14th with a day in Nassau and a day in Freeport. I'm thinking diving both days is in order.
Chris, thanks for the help. That was absolutely the issue.
After upgrading to my vyper air and looking at a back up I realized that what I was seeking I already have. I will use my zoop instead of a watch and depth gauge as a back up.
Now my logs are caught up and it's time to go dive.
Since you brought it up, my zoop now lives as a spare to my vyper air. Instead of a watch and depth gauge as a back up to my vyper air, I just use the zoop I already own.
However if only choosing one, the vyper is a clear winner.
The atomic solar gshock watches are excellent. I own a couple of them and swap out per mood. I also have a suunto core. If these watches have survived me, they will survive anything.
After a recent upgrade to a Vyper Air the ZOOP will now remain as my back up. I have installed DM4 and connected the Vyper Air and have found logging dives to be fairly straight forward and easy to do. As I never had a cable I had never done this with my ZOOP. I am trying to get the ZOOP to...
For diving in the upstate I wear at least a 7 mil all the time. I get cold very easy, so I choose the 7. YMMV but, water at Jocassee is never warm. The Bermuda Triangle in Greenville is a Henderson stocking dealer. So trying the suits on locally is not out of the question. Being that amazon...
