    Suicide Clips

I use them all the time for tools and my knife on my dive harness, it is one of the most common type of clips used in commercial diving. We use a stainless spinaker shackle for the umbilical connection to the harness but for tools we use the brass clips. They are cheap, fairly durable, and...

Sarting a Dive Op... a candid discussion.

Hey Kev, Great read so far! I was just curious about your insurance requirements / roadblocks you have run into. I know if you are running the vessel yourself you could run with only liability but to hire a operator or deckhand as an employee did you have to secure federal (MEL / Jones...

    Scuba watchband

I used to wear a continuous nylon band but wearing it in and out of water and mud developed a unique perfume... I wear the stainless steel for diving now.

Divers rotate through stations in teams of five, the surface supplied dives are short fam. dives so while two members are making a dive the other two tend and the dive master candidate supervises. The divers are wearing drysuits for hazard protection training not for cold.

    Commercial Diving School.....

Woman are not a majority in the industry but are not unheard of either, many good and successful woman divers are out there. For your initial training just stick to the basic qualification, most of what you learn will be on the job and when special skills are needed for a project let a...

    Thoughts on full face mask?

There are a couple units on the market you could use your standard second stage with, you would be giving up alot. It is an expensive investment but in my opinion well worth the expense for the enjoyment and comfort in all dive environments. I am a big fan of the AGA mask, they have been...

    Career Choice

Watch the AAUS site for potential jobs working with academic diving programs or aquariums. You can try it out without much if any more investment in training and more often than not gain some sort of tuition assistance to continue your education while making your decision.

    Career Choice

That is not correct... US Army Engineer divers, Sea-Bee divers, Navy fleet divers, salvage divers, EOD divers, Coast Guard divers, Marine RECON divers, Air Force PJ divers, Navy submarine SCUBA divers all are still around and still being trained at NDSTC.
