    Doing it Left

So, are you saying that a whole class will be using the HUB?? Or will have Air 2's instead of octos? Or will be using integrated weights instead of a weight belt? In your scenario, I'm guessing all your students are in the same rental gear, but what about the person that already has...

    Doing it Left

No confusion!! It is reassuring to look at your buddy, and see the same equipment configuration that you are wearing. I think that if all new students were equiped the same, confusion would diminish because there would be equipment continuity. Student A could look at student B and visually...

    hoseless, air integrated comp question

did you clean off the battery contacts well?? A little oxidation on the contacts and you would never know you had a new battery. Have you tried putting the transmitter on the other HP outlet(other side)? Is the transmitter on the same side as you wear your gauge? good luck.:)

    drysuit cuff ring for Andy

Andy, when you make your second attempt at doing your cuffs, you could put them on without keeping the seals operational. It seems that it is easier to put the rings in that way. If you are up against the wall and ready to rip your drysuit into pieces, that could be a viable option.:)

To HID or Not To HID... that is the ???

Can you have a dive light that is too bright?? I dive with my light on for the whole dive, I don't turn it on and off. It is true that there have been problems with HIDs, but the reputable companies stand behind their products. The NiteRider is a little "gimicky" IMO.( I checked out...

    drysuit cuff ring for Andy

It is not easy putting those rings in. GH is right about the install. I had to position the ring about 1/4" from the tape that finishes the seal seam. I did not read anywhere but found out that the ring can only be pulled thru when perpendicular to the cuff, if it is not that way, the ring will...

To HID or Not To HID... that is the ???

I'm not sure about Niteriders lights. they make bike lights, right?? I have an 18w HID and it is bright, I like it very much. Does the Niterider use welch-allyn(sp?) components? It seems like a lot of mfgs. use the same bulbs and ballast. If I was choosing between halogen and HID, well...

    Doing it Left

Please, find a different name for your venture. left handed people have been persecuted enough by our society and corporate america, don't add to the long list of peculiarities that left handed people are saddled with. Really, call it something else!! If you don't like DIR, then that's fine...

What do you treat your drysuit zipper with?

The Mc Nett stuff with the brush is supposed to be OK for cleaning the zipper, but I found that it didn't do a good job for lubing the zipper. generic parafin wax works good but is a little messy, the MaxWax has worked best for me. Just make sure you use it regularly.

Halcyon STA-less BP / Wing Questions

the carriage bolt that came with my pioneer sticks out too much, the head of the bolt hits against the tank and cocks the tank to one side or the other. A flat headed stainless machine screw that will sit flush in the grommet will work better. I used a couple of big plastic auto body clips, like...

Review: Diving Concepts Crushed Neoprene Dry Gloves.

I believe that there are two different sized rings used with the gloves. the way to tell which you have is if there is a rubber "sleeve" over the glove where it mates with its ring, it is the new (a little larger?) ring.

Does not compute but should I ?

FWIW, Give Sea Jay a break, he just took DIRF and as such, is not an expert about deco; he explained his total GUE experience was spent at less than 40 ft. deep!! So he came away from DIRF with a theoretical lesson on deco, not practical experience based on years of actually doing it...
