Laguna dive shops and buddies needed 6/9-12

Hey all you SoCal divers, I'm looking for suggestions for a shop near Laguna Beach where I can rent tanks and weights from. Hopefully something nearby for easy air fills. I'm fortunate to be staying with family in town for a couple days and really want to take advantage of some famous southern...

Butt Plate or Back D Ring for Recreational BCDs

Can't speak to the Zuma, but the Hydroa Pro has a ton of attachment points. They're a little untradtional though. There is a mount on the back for a crotch strap as well as mounting points to secure an SMB with bungie cords. There are also optional mounting points to attach items to the weight...

    Boots - The final frontier

I would recommend Mares Trilastic. Most comfortable boots I've ever tried on and they fit all of my XL sized fins. I know the jet fin has a narrow foot pocket, but might be worth a shot.

    Saving Your Dive

Yeah, that's a t-shirt I could live without! Lol. Gonna be careful with weighting, make sure the weight I do have is mostly ditchable, and have redundant buoyancy in the form of my smb. Hopefully I'd have the presence of mind to use it in an emergency situation!

For sale - Dr says no more diving

Hey, I don't know what his doctorate is in, but if @drbill told me to keep diving, I'd take that as doctor's orders! In all seriousness though, I'm sorry you got this news. As someone relatively new to the hobby, I can't imagine being told I had to give it up.

    Saving Your Dive

I have the sitech quick neck and wrist seals so Ill just have to bring the little roller tool that came with them. I should probably practice that skill before I actually have to do it, but I'd hate to accidentally tear a perfectly good seal. Just have to settle for YouTube instructional videos...

    Saving Your Dive

New to the drysuit game so I'm not sure how necessary it is, but I just ordered some spare drysuit seals in preparation for a trip to Cali. A little pricey, but I'm not planning on bringing a wetsuit and I would hate to miss a dive because of a torn seal. Other than that, standard items that...

    Heard Submarine While Diving?

I'm with @aquacat8. By definition, since you dont know what it was, we should classify it as a USO!

    What Mask Should I Get?

I had/still have the same issue. Flooded masks were ruining what should have been amazing dives. I started with two different atomic masks, tried on basically every mask that scubapro makes, and ultimately found a good fit with the Hollis M3. Then my weight changed slightly (maybe 10 lbs) and...

    Hudson River Based

Okay, good to know, thanks! I thought it might be a good alternative to Dutch in the early season before they open 7 days a week. I usually have Mondays off and I usually want to dive!

    Hudson River Based

Hey @Kland84 , you ever dive lake minnewaska? I was considering it for some drysuit practice sessions over the next 2 weeks before a trip to Cali, but I'm not sure of anyone still dives it. I know there were some visibility issues a couple years ago, but supposedly the geology is pretty...

    LCHF or Ketogenic Diet

While Keto and low carb diets may change gut flora, your intestinal lining will actually be refreshed much more quickly on a ketogenic or low carb diet due to increased stem cell production. This is especially beneficial to folks with autoimmune diseases or those with compromised immunes systems...

How to mate Evo boots to Fusion drysuit

From what I gather, it would be easy enough to remove them if you wanted to, just by undoing the velcro. As far as drying, that's actually one of the appeals of attaching the boots for me. I like the idea of hanging the suit upside down by the boots for easy drying that keeps the stress off the...

How to mate Evo boots to Fusion drysuit

So supposedly the Evo 4 boots I just picked up will semi permanently mate to my fusion drysuit, the same way the fusion boots do. Inside the boot, I'm noticing what looks like a strip of the fuzzy side of Velcro that runs down the rear of the boot and up the inside of the toe. This matches the...
