    UK eled

I have the C8 and really like it. Best bang for your buck that I have seen. There have been a couple of good threads in the last month or so on these lights, including and in depth explaination of why the C8 is better. Search on down the board and you'll find them. good luck. steve

    What is YOUR opinion...

Do a search for "Dacor" and you will find some threads explaining why many divers will not buy ANYTHING from Dacor. IMHO the Apeks T20 is the best deal going in regulators. Same high performance as a top of the line, Class A regulator, just without the coldwater features. steve

    Aluminum VS Stainless BP

I'm guessing that with a steel backplate, AL80, and a shortie wetsuit you will still need a little weight. Do you dive steel tanks??; that is another factor to consider. I faced a similar choice a short time ago and went with the steel plate; I think it was best for me since I dive everything...

    Tidy equipment

On a lot of gear used for students and rentals, the clips have a habit of disappearing. My first instructors made a good effort to keep students' octo/ect clipped off, but they couldn't hardly replace the clips for every class.

    Aloha From Tennessee!

Hey Alan, I'm not far from you; I'm in far western KY. Maybe get together and dive sometime?! I do most of my local diving at Mermet Springs, but get over to Cerulean and Penneyroyal every now and then. I've never been to Martha's, but would give it a try. Glad to have you on the board; keep...

    BP/Wing Observations

I guess I have to agree with some of Chris' points. After about 400 dives in a jacket-style BC, I made the switch to the BP/single wing. I now have about 10 dives on that setup. I like it, I REALLY like it, however, I cannot say that my trim and comfort in the water is much better than with...

    First Scuba Set-up

Lot of good regs out there. Search the board and see what other folks are using. While you are searching, do a search for "Dacor"; some folks (including myself) will never buy from dacor. I'm sure there are others who are happy with their dacor regs; just hope they can get service parts in...

    Drysuit ?'s

Take your time on your purchases!!! Every diver I know (including me) has made purchases they regret. Try out different kinds/types/brands of gear; talk with divers who have similar interests (eg. wreck, cave, reef, warm, cold, ect). Also, lots of great info on this board. As far as the...

    Dive Rite Vs. Apeks

I've never used the Dive Rite, so I can't comment. However, I can't imagine a better reg than my DS4/TX50!

    2004 year in review

OK, I'll start. After waiting for several years, I finally got to make a North Carolina dive trip. Yes, it was just as good as I thought it would be. In fact, we even made it diving five days in a row without getting blown out. Now, I can't wait to go back.

    Buoyancy Control with Dry Suit

I was taught to use just the suit. However, I have found that "just enough to take off the squeeze" and the rest in the wing works for me. If weighted correctly, though, it never takes more than a couple of shots in the wing. Have made many free ascents, and never had trouble managing both...
