    reason for two computers??

True, but taking that line of thinking to it's logical conclusion means you don't need a depth gauge at all. And what if you are diving an 800m wall?

    reason for two computers??

OK - tell me - you're on a dive, and you look down at your wrist to check your depth. Your single computer/depth gauge says 88 feet. How do you know that your computer isn't wrong and you're actually at 109 feet? In my opinion, more information is always better than less.

    I think I will...

Well, that sucks.. but at least you are getting a package. Hey, maybe you can use it to open a dive shop? (I keed!) I'm kinda used to getting 'layed off' because I'm a contractor.. no holidays and usually only hang around each client for 6-12 months.. but you get more per day on average...

    I think I will...

You don't work for Kodak do you? They are closing a few plants around the world.. Are you losing your job or do you get to move to Mexico? Either way I'm sorry to hear it.. although you always have to look for the silver lining and I think there are some good caves in Mexico from what I've...

A sad story what are your views?

I don't agree the same intent was there. What if neither of them wanted children at that point? If the intent was to have children at that point in time, then they could take samples from both of them and have a 3rd person carry the baby to term. But they chose to freeze the embryo -...

A sad story what are your views?

I'm sure they both knew the full gravity of the situation when they donated. I'm making a few assumptions here.. but It sounds like it went something like this: The woman found out she had cancer and that the radiation treatment would kill all her eggs so it would be impossible for her to...

    Size of Doubles

The best way is for you to work it out yourself. Estimate your max depth and desired time, add some contingency - whether it be 1/3rds, rock bottom, etc then multiply by your SAC and thats your gas requirements. Also remember that you will usually be carrying deco gas seperately so you can...

    Deco dives and "normal" computers

Well every dive is a deco dive - which makes every planned dive a planned deco dive... but I understand your point. I know someone will be along in a minute telling us computers will rot our brain and you should be doing deco in your head.. however I quite like my AI console computer...

    Fuul face masks.

Bloody right. In fact, they only guy that I know that wears one is a right twit. :) Got any more dives booked over the next few months? I'm in Menorca this weekend, but might be sniffing around for some dives when the weather gets a bit better.

The Difference a good Dive buddy makes

I've never really had a chance to solo dive properly, however I've been told by people that do solo dive that their SAC goes down because they are not worrying about a buddy. (mine goes up, because I worry about getting snagged on monofilament)

whats the biggest chance uve taken for scuba diving?

I've never owned a shop - any sort of shop. But I can imagine what it's like. I doubt there is little difference between working in a dive shop or any other shop (eg. computer store). You still have to serve customers and try to sell them your inventory. I worked in a grocery store while...

    Recovery vs vandalism

When a boat sinks, the owner still owns it. The only reason people don't like other people recovering items from wrecks is so that other divers can see the wreck in it's natural environment. At the end of the day though, someone owns it and if they want it recovered then thats their business...

    touching things underwater

Well, I guess one extreme is spearfishing - you are there to permanently "stress" the aquatic life, right? I've got no problem with killing for food - so long as you're not killing endangered species (and only doing it in approved areas and not marine parks). Not like the tale my manager told...

I want to ride my motorcycle...

I've had 3 motorcycle accidents and all have been minor. ie. I didnt break any bones or need any medical attention. In each case the bike had to be trailered though..

    awesome indoor training pool

What makes you think they are CGI? They are the real deal. 32m depth with 32m vis - you can see the bottom and everything else.

    Hot Shower's

I've heard the hot shower/hot bath scenario. I would have thought it would be more likely to only provoke skin bends though. Don't know the reasoning behind it.

    awesome indoor training pool

It's in Brussels. I'd like to go before I move back to Australia next year. I've heard though that you must use their equipment (ie. you can't bring your own). Can't remember the reason why though.

    padi peak performance buoyancy class

cmon Mike... it's not exactly rocket science. Stop finning. if you go down, add a little air. if you go up, dump a little air. I think sometimes stuff is made to sound over complicated on the internet so people "take a class" and "don't kill themselves". At the end of the day, the...
