    Ocean Master Equalizer One Mask

Has anyone used or seen one of these? I have only seen the equalizer Z2, Z4, and Z3. I am curious about whether the Equalizer one is as low volume as the Z2. Are the dimensions similar? I used to have a Z2, but gave it away recently and need to get a new mask. I was thinking about getting...

zeagle ranger mask, ocean master Z1?

Thanks for the advice. I certainly will try the mask on first. I would order it from an LDS, but if I don't like they won't make me buy it. I am not sure if it is even worth the wait to special order the Zeagle mask. I have seen high reviews on it (though I know that the source of the review...

    Ocean Master Masks

I really like the equalizer Z2 mask. It fits me well, rarely leaks, and is comfortable. At first I tried the Z4, which has side windows, but I preferred the Z2. The side windows offer a distorted view, you see about 5 feet behind you, and cause the mask to be of higher volume (takes more...

zeagle ranger mask, ocean master Z1?

Hello, My fiancee lost her mask (our dive instructor said wear it around the neck, not around the forehead -- a mistake she won't make again!) so I am giving her mine and am looking for a new one. The basic question here is: what do you suggest, stick with the Ocean Master Z2, or try...

    Best computer for older eyes.

As if it did not already have enough votes... My fiancee just bought this computer and it has a very clear display with large numbers. It also has a customizable display. I may get one too one of these days...

Finalists for the California Forum Name

It's less plain than California Divers...and there's more to California diving than kelp.

old scubapro vs new (G250 vs. G250HP)

That is the main reason I asked the question. I am new to scuba as of this summer and got a good deal on a Mk18/G250HP set. Then I read a lot of posts about how much people preferred the older Scubapro G250s. I was trying to get to the bottom of what exactly the differences are. Well, I have...

old scubapro vs new (G250 vs. G250HP)

Thank you for the detailed responses! I had no idea that there were two configurations of the G250HP. All the best

old scubapro vs new (G250 vs. G250HP)

I have seen some threads where people lament about the good old days of the original Scubapro G250 second stage. They claim that it is so much better than the G250HP for a variety of reasons -- the new one is too complicated, it has inferior materials, etc. I am curious, is there really that...

    Transpac II and Oxycheq?

In a local dive shop I lined up an Oxycheq 45# single tank wing with a dive rite backplate and the slots did not match. The wing that I saw there also did not match the Transpac II.

    new york city?!?

Good to know that diving won't be something that I have to give up when I move out there again. Thanks for the ride offers, advice, and kind words. I was worried because my friend from the Bronx who is certified said he did all his dives in a quarry in PA. Vadim, I may have to take you up...

Oxycheq vs. Dive Rite, help please!

Probably the regular backplate will be ok for you, though I don't know if there is any real negative with the short one. I was advised against the heavy sta only because it is less modular than other ways of adding weight. You can use a steel tank, or get these weight pockets and slide them...

    new york city?!?

Just after getting certified in my hometown of San Diego and falling in love with diving my fiancee is talking about going to New York City as a possibility for grad school. We lived there before and I liked it, but that was before diving... Right here we can just go shore diving every weekend...

Oxycheq vs. Dive Rite, help please!

I ended up going with the Halcyon BP/Wing when I was in a similar situation as you. Out of those you have suggested I also heard that that Oxycheq is very good. Depending on your frame you might also look at a small backplate. A heavy sta might get some of that weight off your hips too...

Where was your first OW dive?

It was hard to tell where I was because the visibility in the pea soup colored water was so poor! It was about 2 feet viz. The instructor, who has been teaching for over 25 years, said he had never seen it so bad. My girlfriend started crying because she was so scared to descend into that (of...

BP/Wings -- better solution than weightbelt?

For those who asked about weight, I am about 6' 1" and 175. I don't think buff's suggestion (get skinny) will work for me. I use a custom two-piece wetsuit, the bottom piece is a 6.5mm full suit and the top piece is a 5mm shorty. That is the cause of some of the extra buoyancy. Probably...

BP/Wings -- better solution than weightbelt?

I picked up 4 of those at sports chalet today. The price seems to have gone up -- $7.99 each. I am going to try 6 pounds in a pocket on either side of the harness and two 5 pound pockets on the tanks. Maybe I'll put all 10 pounds on the bottom strap (or is that a bad idea?). I'll report...

    Oxycheq Wings

It seems like you could probably use a 30 but I read in another thread that the 45 has similar trim characteristics. Still, it seems that if there is a slight difference in drag maybe the 30 is good if it is most appropriate for your size. I am not sure about this, in the other thread some...
