That Monday morning Lobos trip looks interesting. I just went there with Roy today. I'll have to see what I have going on next Monday though, alot of things are up in the air at the moment.

I should still be good for Lobos on Monday morning. It's been a hectic week, but so far nothing on my schedule interferes with MOnday. I'll give you a call if I have anything come up though.

I was out at South Monastery today. Conditions looked good, but didn't really have time to check things out since we were doing rescue scenarios. That sloped beach sucks. Good news is I'm all done with the rescue class.

I was talking about the 12th, though I could probably do the 5th too, depending on how I'm feeling after the rescue course.

I could probably do Lobos on the morning of the 12th if conditions are good. I'll need to make certain my wife doesn't have anything planned for me, but Mondays usually aren't too hard for that since she's at work.

I haven't had an issue with it being too bulky, it is less bulky than wearing a farmer john & jacket 7mm and it's nice being able to let the top hang between dives or before a dive when teh weather is warm enough.

I have the 7000x J-type and have been very happy with it. I haven't gotten cold on any dives here in Monterey, even in water a bit below 50. I like having hte integrated vest and hood. Of course it is a really bulky suit with all the extra stuff, but it is comfrotable to wear.

Last Saturday was fantastic. I did my AOW at Mcabee beach and had a great time. Vis was about 40 and waves were flat the whole day. I'd be interested in going out Monday if conditions are ok.

I wouldn't count on that. Talking with our divers at the aquarium, they said the electronic device they have didnt seem to work with the white (they tested it with the female). It does work well with the Galapagos though.

I'll echo Roy here. From a skills perspective, a dive there is still very far off for me. Now, sometime in the future when I have more experience under my belt, sure. I don't mind going out and playing bait for sharks.

There's also a dealer with a special on glue on pockets in the Hot Deals forum right now. Have you considered renting a BC ahead of time and bringing it with you, or renting where you are going for the duration of the trip rather than on the boat? At least he'd be able to set everything up...

I should easily be able to make the dives by the May class dates, probably a lot earlier. I am aiming to hit 20 dives by the beginning of March so I can get in the rescue class. Ten dives between march and may wouldn't be difficult at all--just a matter of finding a buddy on Sundays or Mondays.

You might also want to look at the Motel6 in Marina if you're just looking for a bed. Not a great place, but their rates are usually low if there's nothing going on at that time.
