Just read this - still laughing!

I know, I know. I'm home sick for the day, so at the moment, I am just going through the new posts. I keep coming across interesting topics, but the links are closed. When I look at the date, they're from 5+ years ago, and you just keep resurrecting ;) It's my own medicine heady fault :dork2...

    New to Scuba Board

Hey there, Parker, Welcome to the board. I live in Florida as well, unfortunately, it's in Jupiter. If you're ever in my area, give me a shout, we can blow some bubbles. As far as finding buddies goes, Scubaboard actually has a buddy finder. It's on the top menu bar...alllllll the way to the...

    SCUBA acronyms !!!

You're right, how thoughtless of me. Thank you. Now, out of shame, I'm going to strap on my split fins, firmly plant my mask on my forhead, strap on a tank, and drag my reef bangers along the bottom into the sunset, knocking off coralheads wherever i go.......slowly going the way of the buffalo

    Best Fins under $80?

I would also have to go along with the gift certificate/card idea. Or, you could go up to the dive shop with them and have them try on some fins. I, for one, would go for ScubaPro JetFins. Versatile, bulletproof fins. I picked up a brand new pair online for about $70.

    SCUBA acronyms !!!

ONESPEED, I'm just a little curious. What is your fascination with reviving 8 year old threads? Have you been frozen in carbonite for some time and trying to catch up?

Blue Heron Bridge - need tide info

I'm not sure where to find the tide information online. I use the SeaTow tide tables. Most of the dive shops here have them out on the counter, so you can just pick one up. According to my handydandy Seatow tide table: You have a high tide at 16:44 on Sunday, May 3. You also have one at...

    Question about equipment

I'd say that's a great find, I'm jealous, and that you should jump on that :D

    Question about equipment

At a quick glannce, $600 for 2 AL 80s, 2 BCs, 2 regs, 2 masks, and 2 sets of fins sounds great. I paid $500 for my BC and (even getting a STEAL) about $300 apiece for my Zeagle Regs. I would definitely ask some hard questions though. What models of regs? How old is the equipment?( Might be...

Two Zeagle FH6 vs. one Scubapro or Aqualung?

I would go ahead and get the two flatheads. I have a flathead 6, and a dsv, they are both great regs. The customer service at Zeagle is second to none. Scott Zeagle is usually available here on the board, but even if you can't find him here, customer service is a simple call away, and they are...

    South Florida Beach Dives

Hey everybody, I'm based out of Jupiter, Fl. I have heard so much about the Ft. Lauderdale shore diving, amongst other places. I have done 20 or so boat dives, a couple handfuls of spring dives, and more times at the BHB than I can count. Can anyone give me some pointers on good locations for...

Pre-dive buddy check; How many of you actually do it?

I do a buddy check every dive. But that is mainly because my dive buddy is my girlfriend. She is very important to me, and I want to make sure that everything is where it should be, on her equipment and mine. Also, we have different setups, so this allows my beloved to remind herself where all...

Bare Velocity 3/2 vs Bare Velocity 5/4 for multiple dives (Cozumel/Florida)

I live in Jupiter, FL. I dive a Pinnacle 5 mm suit. I have only had it for about 3 months, but in temperature ranges from 68(in a spring) to around 80, I am completely comfortable. I have never felt overheated in the Florida waters, but I also have never been to Cozumel.

    wreck fins

I use these: Great for getting around....and, you know, good for getting away from blind super-heros. I'm a sucker for a multi-tasker. Please note that they are not splits. I'm not some sort of misguided aqua-pansy with a desire to die at depth. ;)
