I would also have to go along with the gift certificate/card idea. Or, you could go up to the dive shop with them and have them try on some fins. I, for one, would go for ScubaPro JetFins. Versatile, bulletproof fins. I picked up a brand new pair online for about $70.

I live in Jupiter, FL. I dive a Pinnacle 5 mm suit. I have only had it for about 3 months, but in temperature ranges from 68(in a spring) to around 80, I am completely comfortable. I have never felt overheated in the Florida waters, but I also have never been to Cozumel.

I use these: Great for getting around....and, you know, good for getting away from blind super-heros. I'm a sucker for a multi-tasker. Please note that they are not splits. I'm not some sort of misguided aqua-pansy with a desire to die at depth. ;)
