LP 95 too heavy if wet?

I am the same size as Jonathan it sounds like and I use 8 lbs. in a 5mil shorty with a Faber 95. Check around to try and rent, I believe if you get the chance to try a LP95 you will buy a set. I also think you will find the tank will complement your backflotation bc and improve the trim. Bill

    Need help installing Air II

I thought Inspector#2 and roakey answered the question on the first page. They both were helpful answering the question while stating thier dislike for the AIR2. I thought that was cool. Bill

    Need help installing Air II

Excuses, excuses: Sure I heard those warnings about Air2’s for the last 18 years. I have tried to quit, its not my fault, they purposely make them addictive. I didn't know my Air2 was loaded, it went off accidentally! New legislation: No Air2 advertisement at sporting...

AFter several attempts at BP's and Wings...

I believe DIR uses at least 2 lengths of hose, 5&7 ft. You assume that if someone has an Air2 that the primary is too short. We use an octo lenght (39 inch) hose as a primary. Too short for a technical environment where a pair would need to swim one after the other, but in no way too short for...

AFter several attempts at BP's and Wings...

Metridium I was taught with a jacket style BC. No long hose to put along the body to limit drag or entanglements in fact just three hoses on the set-up to limit the above. Using a wing/BP is safer because minimizes my hydrodynamic signature? Ease of use/mobility I understand, safety, nope...

AFter several attempts at BP's and Wings...

1.So did my first PADI instructor. 2. Was taught it, but took me about 20 dives before the light went on and I actually got it right. 3. Ditto my second answer. 4. Good point. But when diving a single tank generally less than 70 ft do you have a pony or other redundant air supply besides...

That's just it. The only things I know that I am doing different than DIR is our choice of gear configuration, and finning. As I said in another post, what makes DIR safer? Bill

AFter several attempts at BP's and Wings...

Ignorance and emotions probably. I think I have done a poor job of expressing myself. I KNOW there is a lot that I could benefit from DIR. Only a fool would think they know it all and could not improve through more education. I guess I need a better understanding of how DIR practices will...

AFter several attempts at BP's and Wings...

No, there is no expectation that anyone must dive with anyone. It's absolutly their choice. I am faulting them for the superiority complex that it is a safer way to dive. As to "Why should I care", its just a discussion. But when it is stated that DIR is "safer" I don't buy that. It's what...
