I have a Bluefin housing which I had Light and Motion convert from a Sony to a Canon for the HFS21. I would contact Light and Motion- they will know if you can do this.
I have given up on this quest. I tried a Google Chromebook but hated it- it would not do anything I wanted but I didn't want to bring my home laptop on the road where it might have a drink spilled onto it by another passenger or the TSA might have insisted I check it. I don't want to spend a lot...
I don't see a lot about the liveboards in the Philippines- it seems like land based is what most posters have done. Is this a destination where you might as well stay with land based because you will see the same sites you would on a LOB? I have sometimes noticed that reviews on LOBs talk about...
Since you never know how your body will do from one trip to the next I recommend:
a 5mil shorty
a hooded vest
a 1-2 mil full suit
a skin.
The vest will always be a good idea- so much heat is lost through the head. The rest you can layer as you please from dive to dive. Also, warm showers are...
Did your family find anything fun to do while you were diving? I am trying to find a good place to dive where my companion- who will not dive- can also have fun while I am out on a dive boat.
Some liveaboards will book you as a single and will not put a male in the room with you but will market the spot to other females. Others will charge you a lot more to have the cabin to yourself which is an option too.
I was recently on a LOB and saw a cool GoPro rig which looked delightfully small and easy to transport. I wasn't able to talk to the owner of it due to an unexpected problem on the trip so would appreciate any advice I can get here.
I currently use a L&M Bluefin housing with a Canon HFS21 and...
Don't forget the boat has it set up so they can accomodate their crew with dinner, rest, maintenance, etc and possibly moving the boat to another site. Also, a lot of them talk about their typical daily schedule on their web site and some other passengers may like the opposite way better but do...
I have been using Mike at reefrainforest.com for a few years and he does a good job. I just got back from the Carpe Vita and loved the operation so I recommend you look at them. I will be going back again next year - that is how much I liked them, the boat and the diving.
I also want to chime in on on how well DAN insurance and their operators are. I recently had my buddy get the bends in a place about as far away from the US as you can get. The operation we were diving with was fantastic and handled the situation well. DAN was great and insured that everything...
Is it realistic to go on a dive trip or even a liveaboard if you do not have a buddy with you anymore?
I do not want to be a problem for other divers. I am an experienced female diver with 800 dives so I should not be a problem but I don't know what all the considerations are. Any input/advice...
in the drug stores they sell these combs ( with teeth) that go around your head and have a fastener at the back. They are cheap. They are about 9 inches in diameter and work well for me. They keep the hair off my forehead and out of my mask and slow down the tangling. My hair is long so I also...
Does anyone have any feedback they can share on this boat?
Also, I see if I do not have an AOW cert- I can only go to 85'- would this be an issue for the dive area?
Just spent 7 days straight diving with Starfish Enterprise and highly recommend them. Maggie, Adam and Will make a great team and we are planning to go out with them whenever we are back in Florida.
Their boat holds 12 divers and they do a good job of keeping the groups separated.
I have...
I was just there and the water was in the 80s down to 60 feet which was typically as deep as I went. I did one dive on the Castor which is about 90' and didn't notice anything different about it but I did not specifically check the temp.
