The Carter Personal Floats work in the same manner. The air is sealed in there really well, I have to use the dump valve to get the air out.
I had a DiveRite #50 lift bag that I use to bungee under my backplate, but small holes wore through where the dump valve hit the fabric.
What ever...
That's a false sense of worry to instill on diver's who purchase regs or other things online. We cover the warranty on what we sell, as do many of the other online retailers. BTW, I've never had any of my own personal regs required parts during the 1st annual inspection, only a cleaning. Of...
By asking questions you often get to the answers. In this case, I'm sure mostly everyone is going to agree that the elastic crotch strap sounds like a bad or useless idea.
Have you looked at the DiveRite 1" crotch straps? (Sorry for asking a question ;) ) They have a quick release clip in...
What you need to do is try both ways and make the choice for yourself. I have my computer and compass bungeed to my hand/wrist...love it. I don't like consoles and I don't like watch strap style mounts either.
If you belong to a dive group, borrow/trade gear for a few dives to find out what...
I haven't taken any instruction with any Key Largo Ops, but I've always been happy diving with the crew at Ocean Divers, http://oceandivers.com/
Over the holidays I dove with Ocean and Conch Republic Divers. Both shops have good reps, but I prefer Ocean.

If you're buying SS bolt snaps from the hardware store, try and find out if the internal spring is stainless steel, otherwise, you'll have issues if you're a saltwater diver.
We have marine grade SS snaps as well as Reefscuba, among others.

I'm impressed with the Carter as well.
If anyone dives in the Los Angeles/SouthBay area and want to try/see one, I have the Carter SMB (cbpf-35) that can be demo'ed at Veterans Park. If interested, PM me to make arrangements.
I agree, call Patrick and he'll probably be able to help you out.
I use a Hammerhead STA and the bolts are not mounted to the STA either. I've welded them to the STA and it is working great. You need to make sure to keep them straight when you do the weld. If you have a Halcyon or similar...
I'm not prone to sea sickness, but if I know there might be a sizeable swell I pop a few ginger tablets the night/morning before the dive.
2 friends who are very prone to sickness, even on calm days, feel that ginger saved their diving. One guy takes a ginger daily, even if he doesn't plan...
7' and 5' are the common hose sizes for divers who plan on donating their primary reg (long hose). I use a 7' on both my single and double rigs. My wife uses a 5' hose. I can use the 5' for single tank diving, but I find it a bit short due to my size (6'2", 200lbs.)
If you decide to go the...
I'm now using the Carter SMB/Liftbag on all my open water dives. I bungee it to the side of my backplate and it is still pretty easy to access. I use to use a smaller, more common, SMB, but I've passed this on to my wife.
#1 - Practice using a SMB before you need to really use it. This is...
Dive more & think less (about form/trim). If you understand the basics, it will come naturally unless you have some weird weight distribution. Sounds like you are trying to frog kick, just remember: Kick...and...glide....you'll know when you have it right.
It is an excellent deal for the $. You shouldn't have any concerns with your purchase as Salvo products come with a 1 year warranty. We will be stocking them in January.

Can you expand on your input? How are you concluding that the Golem wing is the toughest you've seen? I haven't seen the Golem wing personally, nor am I discounting your opinion, I'm just curious what factors play into making your decision.
A few of my regular dive buddies have been using...
