    Leaking mask help needed.

A couple of guys I dive with use vasoline on their mustaches to help with the seal. I wonder if that would help bridge the gap for someone with an unusual face. My Girlfriend has a Cressi Big Eyes mask at leaks on her all the time. We've been looking for another mask that fits fer face better...

    Say you have $100...

Go for the light and knife. Lights are always useful even for day dives for looking in holes and under stuff. A knife is an essential piece of safety equipment to help you get free from all of the fishing lines and other stuff you can get tangled in. If you are going to do any night dives you'll...

    Wreck Reels?

I have a 4" Enclosed Golden Reel Series from Reef Scuba and it works well for me. They have great products, their reels are solidly built and priced reasonably and they have great customer service. Check them out at http://www.reefscuba.com Ty

Do you guys ever get seasick?

I could get seasick in a bathtub.... As a mater of fact, my first two boat dives I had to blow off the second dive because I was too busy... blowing chuncks ;-0 Dramamine, Bonine, wrist bands, ginger.. nothing helped until a DM told me about the patch. Now I swear by it and haven't had a...

    Can someone....

The two courses are basicly taught as one, except some people only take the survey course. There were 3 or 4 people in our class who had no interest in wreck penetration but wanted to learn more about wrecks so they only took the survey class. As for sketching, yes, it was a requirement. We...

    Can someone....

The wreck survey/ Wreck Penetration course I took this year were taught together so it is hard to say where one ended and the other started. However, the wreck survey course was intended, as I understand it, to teach how to veiw a wreck, understand the layout, how to figure out which was the bow...

    New Wreck @ 260 feets !

We did the dive on Saturday. We only got in one dive because the generator died while we were doing out sit time and we had to go back in. We did the bow of the Resor and it was great vis was over 40 feet and the sea was flat as glass. Lots of fish and bugs... All together on one dive there were...

Crotch Strap? Do you use one?

I use one and I consider being upside down part of normal diving. On almost every dive it seems I am inverted looking in holes or under plates for bugs. As said above, I like my gear secure. One other benefit for me was when I had my weight belt buckle pop open my crotch stap caught my weight...

    Unerwater Hotel?

I read that too, but then they said the only requirements were to not fly or dive for 24 hours. At 21 feet deep I don't think it would truely qualify as saturation diving... Ty

    Epcot Living Seas

I did a quick search and found this thread that talked about Epcot. I'm planning on doing the dive when I take the kids there this November. It sounds cool and I am a bit of a ham, so diving in a big fish bowl with everyone watching should be a blast. Ty

    Ca't access my shears...????

Not only do I have my weight belt under my TP II, but my crotch strap goes over the belt. That's what saved me last weekend when the weight belt buckle snagged on some old fishing line and popped open. Now I'm sporting two buckels on my weight belt. Ty

    Submarine wreck from 1800's????

No, I missed it. Do you remember what it was on? I'll have to look for it. I love that kind of stuff. Ty

    fin strap falling down

Just an idea, but you could try gluing a small piece of rubber to the heal of your boot just below where you want the fin strap to be. That way hopefully the strap won't slip down. I've seen that on a couple of boots and it looks like it should work. Ty

    Submarine wreck from 1800's????

The Hunley was the first Submarine to sink another ship, but the first Submarine was built in 1620 by a Dutch physician named Drebble for King James of England. it was basicly an underwater rowboat with pigskin baldders that were filed with water to sink and squeezed to rise. He also had a CO2...

    New Wreck @ 260 feets !

I saw that too. I'm on the Seeker tomorrow and I'll ask about it. Given the way some of the wrecks are named off the Jersey coast New wreck may just be the name of a wreck and not an actual new wreck, but I'll check it out. Ty

    Head Rush at 25 - 20 ft!?

I've had similar experiance several times. Not on every dive but probably 4 or five times. Mostly in cold water or when there has been a significant thermocline. Based on what I've read here I've written it off as Vertigo and not worried about it. It never last more then a minute or so and...

    Knee Brace and DCS

I'm not sure if this is a Dr. Deco question or not. Last Sunday I twisted my knee on the boat as I was moving over to the rail to do my entry. It was fine throughout the dive and climbing back up the ladder, but stiffened up on the drive home. So far every day it has been getting better but...

    Wreck Penetration Training

O-ring Congrats. I sounds like you learned alot. I finished my NAUI Wreck Penetration last weekend with a dive on the Chactow. She's a tug that had been sunk as part of a reef and there was a lot of places to go in and explore. You're right though, the instructor makes the difference. Ty
