    Enriched air and new divers

In Canada's western-most Metropolis, $250 is a common price for that course.

    Enriched air and new divers

My opinion as a Nitrox certified diver is that Nitrox is more expensive than regular air. New divers (generally) need to work on their buoyancy and breathe control. AS a result, they waste air. Why waste expensive air, when you could waste cheap air while you get the bugs worked out?

    Kelvin Grove - @$$hole Diver

I miss the point of your point, and the smiley indicates sarcasm? My point is to vent about a diver doing something ignorant in public, that effects the image of other divers. I personally railed against Lions Bay when they made claims about people peeing publicly. I couldn't believe anyone...

    SubX gear - buckle-scuffing

So, I just bought a set of SubX thermals, WOW! I am massively impressed and happy with my purchase. 60 minute dive in 7c water and I was almost too warm the whole dive. What I did find, was that the two straps that wrap under your thighs and secure the jacket from bunching cause wear on the...

    Kelvin Grove - @$$hole Diver

So, I was at Kelvin Grove this weekend doing a couple dives, testing out the Christmas purchases. While there, I witnessed another diver who decided to take a leak in the bushes beside the walking path, rather than the washroom that was 20m away. Now, with the problems we as diver's have...

    Cart Dedicated to Hauling Gear?

Hi All, I dive the cold water of the Pacific Northwest, year round. our high-bank waterfront means that shore-dives often involve a heck of a lot of physical exertion before and after a dive. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any product, dedicated to diving, that is a cart configured to...

    New TSA directives

It doesn't matter if the USA is your destination, it is a requirement for any flight that travels near US airspace. This includes every flight that leaves airports such as Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal, due to the proximity of their takeoff and landing pattern, as well as any flight that flies...

    New TSA directives

Of special interest to Canadians, and a point most may not realize. The TSA requirements actually force Canadian airline corporations to violate our charter rights as well as the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) through the type of information they collect on passengers and the...

Found: My daughter is missing from Copperas Cove

You totally missed the point of my post. By quoting only the first 3 words out of context, you are propagating that misunderstanding. I don't know the OP and I don't care to know the details who, what why of what happened. What I said I was curious about NetDoc, before you manipulated my...

Found: My daughter is missing from Copperas Cove

I'm just curious, if there are other missing youth involved, why the reluctance to share details? Would more communication and awareness not increase communication to possibly help with locating the others alluded to as still being missing in post #139?

    Dive Equipment Prep Checklists?

Who uses a formal checklist as you prepare your equipment, pre-dive? Some of my gear I share with other activities, and have had a couple times where i have forgotten an item "in another gear bag". Short of duplicate and triplicate items (wasteful IMHO) It would seem a simple printed excel...

Best method of adhering shoulder patch to trilam suit?

I have a BARE HD-Trilam drysuit, and I would like to adhere a small (1" x 2") patch of my nation's flag to the shoulder. Generally (well, on Zeagle BC's for example) they are SEWN on. Which is a bad idea I think. Is there a better, preferred method of adhering to Trilam material? Thanks!

    LDS Package Discount

This is a bad example actually. Dealers are networked and as their profit actually comes from a) manufacturer's discounts and b) service / warranty work, they will absolutely pull a car from another lot if you want it in green or with 4 headlights instead of two. Back on topic of course...

New diver lost in the arguments

I think you are over-thinking this. You ARE certified, you have you OW and AOW. So that means you have at least 8 - 10 dives under your belt. The BEST thing (in my conflicted, contrary internet opinion) is just dive! If you are not comfortable on your own, hire a DM to guide you or go on...

    LDS Package Discount

If I was starting out, buying gear again. I would shop online to buy the best make and model of each piece of equipment (for me) and if my LDS could not package a deal on what I wanted, or if I couldn't find it local on sale, then I would look online. What I did my first time, is went with a...

    Drysuit Undergarmets for "warmish" water

Wow. Whats wrong with me? I dive in 7 - 9 degree C weather with just a thermal-poly base layer (MEC style for skiing) and a 3/16" fleece upper and 50/50 NYCO BDU pants and i'm over-heating. I just ordered a Fourth Element SUBx layer for current PNW water temps at this time of year (5C water -2c...

Firstly, let me say that my post was not intended to disparage the medical professionals who contribute their opinion in this sub-forum. We are all here to learn and share. That is the first function of any online forum. Second, let me offer my apologies as a new member who did-not properly...
