Because the rEvo is the only CCR unit with a constant mass flow in addition to either running manually or with solenoid.

I'm not sure this is accurate anymore. Have you checked in the last few years? There may be options on other CCR's that have CMF and solenoid from the factory if requested.

So why have the fatalities on it occurred? On seemingly the Hybrid m/h/eCCR specific models and not strictly mCCR or eCCR variants? Deep Life Design Team: databases and analysis of rebreather accident data
