HERE is another take on it.

Good article; he makes a very significant point in observing that solidifying the basics -- buoyancy, trim and position -- precede taking action against whatever the issue is, unless the issue is a catastrophic loss of gas. Even then, losing buoyancy control can negate the benefit of any other strategy to solve the immediately problem.
