Cozumel needs an upgrade to it's facilitiies. It was maxed out on Saturdays (peak travel) 15 years ago. With the 'gringo' taxes charged in and out, the place should look like the Taj Mahal by now.
I have traveled through a lot of cities in Mexico and have actualy had to work at the CMZ airport to repair aircraft, compared to most cities, it's a dump. It needs an upgrade.
