Wanted to ask how many out there are diving dual rebreathers, or considering diving dual rebreathers? I am exploring starting to dive dual rebreathers, and trying to find out:
  • Did you just start diving dual yourself / or take a training class?
  • Training instructor / days of class
  • Do you rotate using both units? if so how often?
  • Handling deco?
  • Dual manual rebreathers, or automatic ?

There are zero classes, absolutely no instructors, nor any insurance agencies touching dual rebreather use whatsoever.

I think IANTD has such a course
Well IANTD's "elite CCR" course doesn't have anything to do with dual CCRs. If there is another one it's not on their website

It is not the Elite ccr. It is a real double ccr. One guy in Bali is teaching that.
Not on their website and maybe only offered outside the US due to insurance as you said

In Europe I know at least 2 instructors teachning dual or bailout rebreather courses. One is in Portugal and one is in France. Except IANTD, TDI has a bailout rebreather course.

Most people that are getting into dual rebreathers don't really need dual rebreathers and probably shouldn't be diving them.

I know a handful of people that do use them and do need them for the dives they are doing. They practice and train on them constantly.

This is absolutely true.

I also think there are people on single rebreathers that both do not need them and have no business diving them.
