I don’t see an option to edit the dive number on the computer itself. There’s an option for the next dive number but not an option to select the dive number and change it.

What if I sync the computer with the cloud, edit the dive numbers in the cloud, delete the dives on the computer, and then change the next dive number on the computer? Would the dives be downloaded to the computer with the new numbers on the next sync?

You have to select a dive individually within the dive log to edit the dive. I have a Perdix and Peregrine but the procedure should be very similar. From my reading of the Teric manual, you should:
  1. Go to the Dive Log
  2. Scroll up and down on the first page of the log to see a list of all of your dives
  3. Select the dive you want to edit (Top right button)
  4. Scroll down inside the dive detail screens until you get to the last screen which should say something like "Edit Log"
  5. One of the fields on that page should be the Log #
  6. Select that field and it should let you edit the log number
Hope this helps.

I’ve done exactly what you described and when I get to the last page of an individual dive there is no edit dive option. The only 2 options listed are to delete the dive or go back to the main page of the dive.

Sorry that doesn't seem to work for you on the Teric. On my Perdix and Peregrine the last page of an individual dive in the log allows me to edit the dive number. I assumed that it would be the same on the Teric.

Could someone with a Teric respond if they know how to do it?

You CAN add dives manually to Shearwater Cloud!
But it requires a workaround, since it doesn't work directly.
Did it Yesterday. You cannot add dives to the computer though, only to the Cloud / app.

You will need a PC with both the free Subsurface and Shearwater Cloud program installed.
1. In Subsurface, create new logged dives manually, change the dive number already, and correct the date/time, depth and duration.
2. Export the dives to a format that Shearwater Cloud accepts (UDDF if I recall correctly). This produces one file with all the selected dives.
3. Import that UDDF file into the desktop app of Shearwater Cloud. It will add the dives with correct numbering into your Shearwater Cloud.
4. Add your location, dive site, Buddies through Shearwater Cloud (can also be done in Subsurface I presume).

In the same way you can transfer dives from other computers to Shearwater Cloud. As long as the dives can be imported in Subsurface, it can be done. It could be that some info is not transferred properly though.

You can change the number of the NEXT dive in the Shearwater computer itself in one of the menu's.

You can change previous dive numbers both on the computer and on Shearwater Cloud, I think. I THINK that if you change it on the dive computer, it syncs it to Shearwater Cloud. I again THINK that the computer only syncs one-way (so changes in Cloud do not transfer to the computer, but the other way around only).
