Hi everyone,

I’ve recently been helping a few friends get into scuba diving, and it made me wonder: what are your favorite dive sites for beginners?

I think shallow reefs with good visibility and mild currents are the best for building confidence. Places like Key Largo or Cozumel come to mind.

For those with more experience, do you have any tips for introducing beginners to their first open water dive without overwhelming them?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and learning about some great starter spots!

Bonaire hands down very relaxing...Cozumel is not for new divers almost every dive is very fast current

Are you affiliated with SMACO Dive?

Okay, thanks. Cozumel... guess I didn't do enough homework lol
They do have some Shore Dives with very little current closer to shore but the majority of all their dives are very very fast current which I love but if you're new I definitely wouldn't recommend it for a first time diver

I haven't had much diving experience outside the US, but we took my daughter down to the Keys a few weeks after she got certified. We got in quite a few easy, fun boat dives, that seemed to really help build her confidence.

Okay, thanks. Totally gonna check it out if I get the chance!
