Hello all.

Deciding between Oman, Cabo Verde and Egypt for a quick trip in September. Oman currently looks quite good with flights but the scuba will be the make or break in terms of cost.

Looking for recommendations for dive operators as well as any information regarding pricing and locations would be highly appreciated (current google searches dont really speak to the recommended operators as well as the pricing is ALLL over. Ta)

If you are going into Muscat there are several choices.

Mola Mola and SeaOman for diving the Damaniyat Islands
Extra Divers for diving a bit south of Muscat.

I can recommend both Mola Mola and Extra Divers although they are a bit more expensive than diving in the UAE.

Extra Divers at Qantab will give a discount for cash payments.

September is a good season for whale sharks at the Damaniyats.

What's your budget?

You can carry on down to Ras Al Hadd and dive cheaper, but if you want a decent boat ladder to climb up without de-kitting in the water first then it's worth paying a few more Riyals

No that’s perfect man. I was just thinking it was more like 80 a day but it’s 40 per dive on some packages

@Searcaigh are you going to be around?
I'll be in the UK at some point in September to sort some things out with my sister but don't have the dates sorted.

Off to the Maldives in October.

If it's just you and you have the time for week away then best value travelling from the UK (your location ID) will be c.20 dives on a Red Sea live aboard.
True total cost for a UK return will be GBP 2,000 if you share a cabin with a stranger, including full board, flights and airport parking and boat crew tip, plus anything you spend if you go out on the last night ashore. Add about another GBP 1,000 if you want sole use of a cabin.
