Yellow umbrella shell

"Yellow umbrella shell" is the common name for this organism, scientific name Tylodina fungina. It's a tectibranch, which are organisms closely related to nudibranchs but have an external shell. This particular species gets its color from feeding on yellow sponges (thanks to Dr. Bill for that info). Photo taken at Casino Point, Avalon, CA, July 2005.
