The Isla Mia is widely believed to be the first legitimate Caribbean live Aboard vessel, probably the first in the world. She sat idle for years at the former Caribbean Sailing Yachts (CSY) franchise at French Harbour Yacht Club (Roatan) with a local fellow living aboard. Next time I saw her, she was hove up on the mud just east of Fantasy Island behind french Key. As they were dragging her off to scrap, she somehow mysteriously broke free, allowing her demise to be provided for free by the laws of the sea. She came to rest just outside (S) of FIBR's fringing reef. In low tide and calm seas, her bones are visible to kayakers and seaplane passengers.
