What were we thinking? We bought another dive boat and we even bought it overseas and had it shipped into Bonaire! Yes, you are right! We are certifiably nuts!

For all of you wanting to attempt this lofty endeavor, or learn more about how it is done, this how to video will walk you through how we did it end to end from selecting the boat, making the offer, traveling to the Florida Keys to buy it, the purchasing process, buying a trailer, the repairing, insuring, upgrading, packing, shipping, and getting it ready to be a real dive boat on Bonaire, as well as the launch. We share the pros and cons of buying locally or buying in the United States and bringing the boat to Bonaire. We share the hidden costs, the landmines that await, and worst of all dealing with a Florida used boat dealer – perhaps one of the least palatable things you will ever experience in your life. What I can tell you if that if you make it through the nightmare that awaits, the euphoria of stepping on deck and taking that first cruise out onto the Caribbean sea will be a lifetime memory. Our hope is that if you have the desire to have a diver’s life dive boat that you will come on the journey with us and when you start down this path it will that much easier.

Please let us know if you have any questions. I have not seen a post like this and I think it will be a real eye opener.

Enjoy!

Good video - extremely informative. Much more in depth than I will ever need, but good to know if I am ever thinking of buying a boat.

All those beautiful $$$ Garmin electronics should have removable steel vaults built for them. Very nice boat setup and it will ride & dive like a dream. Congrats on your purchase and journey!!

Hi Rich,

I haven't had time to watch the new video yet...also have not seen the Honey Bee in person either but I feel like I'm saying good-by to an old friend. After diving vicariously on her since I first found your channel, I already miss the old gal.

I'm looking forward to new adventures...keep those great videos coming!

Good video ... question on the trailer. I assume the boat was originally was moored in the Keys thus never had a trailer and the need for one for transport.
