But note you have to be vaccinated. 1 x J&J or at least 2 shots of one of the other. Not later than 2 weeks before arrival. In general Indonesia does not accept exception letters.

Wait what! Your last vacc has to be within 2 weeks of travel? Or do you mean it has to be longer than 2 weeks before?
You have to be fully vaccinated, that means 2nd shot has to be longer than 2 weeks ago.
Currently 2 shots are ok, but they already announced that for domestic travel during Eid Al fitr you’ll have to be boosted.

What about leaving Bali for ... say ... Sorong?

If you are allowed to leave the country other than Bali then you must be allowed to go to anywhere in the country.
Check it out.

I hope by August, we can enter & get VoA in more than just Bali, like Manado & Jakarta, as going to Sangalaki and Raja Ampat from Jakarta is easier than from Bali.

ATM you can get VOA only in Bali then travel to other parts of the country. I have a plan with a dive buddy to fly into Bali VOA dive in Tulamben and Ahmed then Raja Ampat then to Lembongan in August September. We just have to wait and see if there is no explosion with another covid outbreak once all the tourist numbers build up. We need to allow a few extra days for traveling so probably a 3 week trip
