Back to Baia, grazie for posting the underwater ruins photos. We lived in Baia in 1977 when I was 14 and we spent many an hour (and afternoon) exploring Baia baths, mostly all above water on the adjacent hillside, but with some parts submerged underwater.
The coolest was the so-called Oracle of the Dead tunnel, which terminates at stairs deep in a tunnel in the hill that descends down into what I remember as clear water. I've thought about diving that since I saw it last in 1977. If you do an online search for Oracle of the Dead and Baia, you'll find it. As dependent kids living overseas, we had our own Indiana Jones type thing going on after school and on weekends. I do hope to go back some time to visit and dive the underwater portion.
Thanks for taking me down that rabbit hole, Gene. Found the dedicated web and even to people like myself with no clue about anything this is really amazing. I have read your contribution there as well..great stuff !

Thanks Nik! Baia is one of my favorite places I've been blessed to live in. Even if it was decades ago and for a short time.
Our step-father worked for Honeywell, so my brother and I got to grow up in our middle school and high school years in West Germany, Italy, California and Taiwan, ROC. I don't think we'd trade that education and experiences for anything. And Baia baths, and the Oracle of the Dead tunnel, is a perfect example.

..although new places are discovered, I think we are loosing more than what we find, so anything that you can see today, don't leave it for later..I believe this particularly true when it comes to nature (and shipwrecks..). My kids will be 14 and 16 when we hit Baia, I hope they will remember those dives when they are adults :)

Don't worry, they will!

Would you recommend the dive company you used? Did they speak English? Hoping to book dive September.
Sorry, I haven't been (sure wish I have). I was just passing this on as I saw it on FB and thought others might be interested.
