I have a Halycon BP/w. On today's dive the dump valve blew out 30 seconds into the dive. I am in Mexico (Cozumel) for the winter and no Halycon rep on the island. There is a good repair place and I will be heading there shortly to see if they think it can be repaired. But maybe I can just buy a new wing and bladder? Anyone have thoughts? I REALLY don't want to have to send it back to Halycon right now.

Call up Zero Gravity in Puerto Aventuras (between PDC and Tulum), they are Halcyon dealers, and do repairs.

I had a Halcyon single tank wing. The cover to the dump valve got somewhat cracked on a crowded boat. That Halcyon one was a weird size. The Dive Rite or Hollis ones the shop had in stock wouldn’t fit. Had to get one from Halcyon.

What does that mean? Leaks, missing, came loose? Broken plastic?
Picture would be nice
This is a photo of the piece that blew out. There is a big hole where it was. And a few tiny bits of broken plastic inside the wing.

If it took the threads off the bladder it might not be repairable. A bladder replacement might be available, not sure if Halcyon offers it, but that probably isn't something that ZG would have on hand.

There is no plastic left on the bladder whatsoever. A few bits at the bottom of the wing. I would think that the only way to repair it is to glue a new piece with the threads onto the bladder, if that is do-able and they can find a part...even if they can cannibalize some old, non-functional unit. I have contacted them and awaiting their advice.

There is a company that sells replacement threads for bladders, but the general opinion (and likely Halcyon's opinion being a DIR company) is that it shouldn't be done as those repairs are considered to be high risk.

I replaced a bladder in a Halcyon Evolve a few years ago. I think it was about $80. Rent a wing while you wait for ZeroG to get a new bladder?

The fix is to replace the bladder or wing. No reattaching the part that ripped off. They are bonded for life, and the life of that part is over.
