I find this thread to be one of the most thought provoking threads on ScubaBoard.

Miss her input and insight.

I never met her but her input on SB are always awe inspiring.

I reread the entirety of it again. Really a thought provocing question and a good read. Recognized quite some names from days past..and even didn't realize some were banned? (dumpsterdiver, Kevrumbo).

Cheers!

I'll tell you one thing I know for certain, she was very much loved by many in the Seattle community.

This is a good topic that could be worth a revisit in another, new thread. Panic is possible for anyone, even well trained divers and the threshold is even then highly variable. I came very close to drowning and panic this past summer and it reminded me of what I surely knew. The urge to bolt to the surface was very strong, it took every bit I had not to. A week of coughing blood and two months and two courses of antibiotics definitely imprinted my mind with the need for some reevaluation. Regardless the experience has reset my thinking, gear and practices.

This post sounds like the start of a new thread...

I would rather another person broach the subject in a new thread, not this one or the historic thread from TSandM. Forgive my typing, not to usual standard, as I only have one working arm due to right rotator cuff surgery today. A mod can move my post if wished.

None of us are permanent.

Sorry to learn of the surgery, and the mishap underwater. Glad you're on the mend, though. :)

I like to think that she would be pleased knowing that this important thread lives on with continued discussion on her very insightful question. This was the very first thread that ScubaBoard Staff selected for the ScubaBoard Knowledge Base.
