Wait is over and I got my first ever drysuit!

Didn't see any Ursuit thread but lot of comparing other suits to Ursuit, so I thought I'll write one.
I'm also writing this because I'm just SO Happy to get the suit and soon get back to diving after two years break.

So why Ursuit? Support your local business!
Only option for me was to get Made to Measure (MTM) suit. MTM was also one reason I chose Ursuit. MTM suits are not cheap and it's easier and less stressful to get all the details and sizing done right when I could handle everything localy. MTM suit was measured using measurement tape for some basic measurements (height, chest, crotch) but many of the measurements and body shapes were taken from photos that the dealer took.

So I chose to get Ursuit Softdura Green FZ MTM and Ursuit Thermofill Heavy MTM.
So far the number of my drysuit dives is zero and I'll write more when I get into water in few weeks.
As this is my first drysuit, I don't know what are details that separates this suit from others, but I'll post pictures of what I like about the suits. And if you want more pictures or have any questions, please ask.

Thermofill Heavy
Thermofill Heavy

I chose the heavy because Finland, the water is always cold. Clo value of heavy is 1.97.
Suit feels great and the sizing is spot on.

Pockets on both sides and one on the left arm. All pockets are quite big.
Air holes on right arm and arm pits.
Nice fleece around neck, on feet and wrists.

Softdura Green
Ursuit Softdura, green

Suit options:
  • Tech dry boots
  • Separate hood
  • QCS Oval wrist seals (will use Waterproof Ultima)
  • Sitech ORUST neck system
  • Metal zipper, a bit longer than standard would have been, 90cm ~35.4in
  • Could have get tighter fit for legs, something that cave divers need/want? But went with regular.
The suit fits very well. Doesn't restrict movement in any position.
Pockets are big, two compartments and mesh at the bottom, one d-ring, two bungees.
Smaller pockets with zippers on the pocket flap, also has two bungees.

Suit came with a bag, hose, hood, wax and talc powder.
Hood feels quite nice and it fits very well under the warm collar. Hood has venting holes for air to escape.

Weezle extreme is warmer undersuit compared to ursuit one. Also Loitokari with dry hood is better for Finland diving. It is much warmer and cheaper that m2m ursuit. To abroad I would take ursuit.

Also ursuit are too baggy on feet, you should have gone for tighter cut. This prevents suit tilting you forward.

100% skill issue, not a suit issue. Legs look like a proper cut, IMHO.
Ill-formfitting drysuit makes everything much harder. Sure you can dive with bag with hole in head, but why should you. I have ursuit drysuit, it´s well know that they cut shins too wide.

Weezle has about 40cm extra on the waist for me so it's not an option. Don't know much about rubber suits and how comfortable they are. My goal was to get comfortable suit even if not the cheapest.

Few pictures of the seams inside and outside. No four way seams.

Looks like a clone of my suit. The MTM is a win. Didn't realize how dainty my legs are and off the shelf suits always had too much leg volume. Always running gators as a fix. After the MTM, no gators needed. They just work.

I have been chasing a leak. Think I finally found it. Neck seal had a tiny nick that acted as a flap. Every time I would pressure check it, everything was fine. But negative pressure would be a little leak, the flap acted as a check valve to only let water in, but pass a leak check. At least until I inverted the suit and pressure checked inside out. Wasn't the suit at all, silicone neck seal.

Rubber suit is actually really nice undwrwater. It's much heavier in surface. It also works as padding when using steel plate

It looks like @Walde has a good fit to me. Cave cut suits look nice, but unless you're in an actual cave it's better to have a little room so you can enjoy donuts and thicker undergarments and not have to be paranoid your $3000 drysuit won't fit anymore if you gain 5 lbs. JMHO. :)
