Quick question since I apparently can't navigate all the jumble on AA site and after an hour I gave up being on hold. So I was hopeful I might obtain the info from fellow divers.
We are headed to Cozumel end of August and lucky us managed to get a really good deal on first class seats since we booked so long ago. This is not where we normally get booked so I am a bit novice at first class perks.
My understanding is with AA your first two checked bags are free if you are in first class....is this correct for Cozumel?
We always take our gear so I wanted to be sure I had the correct information on this.
I figured with all the Cozumel divers on here...you guys were bound to have the best first hand info on this.
Thank you

.
Check your reservation! AA canceled most flights after August 16. I had to change my trip. I called, left a callback number, they called within an hour, and they were very courteous and cooperative - whatever I wanted.

WE are going July 20-27 Economy. I found this on the AA site if I did the same flights First Class.
Not sure what "AAdvantage Executive Platinum members get 1 extra checked bag" means.

Every First or Business class trip I have taken includes at least two free checked bags with extra weight allowance.

Also, included is free admission to the airlines “club” and sometimes two carry on bags.

Enjoy!

That's a NEGATIVE on free admission to the "Club". Only on certain International destinations -- not Mexico (Mexico City being the exception) or the Caribbean.

You shouldn't expect much from "first class" on AA to and from Cozumel. It's more like a watered down business class. Yes, you will get two free checked bags (and they can be overweight). The seats are wider and with more leg room than steerage. AA suspended meal service during the pandemic. I don't know if they're now providing more than a snack. Beverage service was continued in first.

I don't know about the rest of the airlines, but most of United's airport lounges are still closed, or at least they were in mid May.

Thank you guys for the information. The baggage perk really was my primary concern....so glad to hear the two bags are free and can be overweighted...70lbs sound correct?
Just ready to leave our green water lake behind for a week and head to blue water and great viz.

To state the obvious: information in here is great in a general sense, but base your decisions on official info from the airlines.

Agreed
I figured it was best to try them after the Holiday weekend...but my curiosity wanted a bit of info sooner.
When we booked I specifically remember this being listed as a perk...bit it's been quite a while ago and really just need to eventually call and get first hand info.
But I enjoy getting info and tidbits here as well.
