The Long Beach dive show has exhibitors too. Divers want to see what's out there. Las Vegas is the place. It's obvious scuba diving has stagnated for decades and will continue to do so with the current mindset. A gun show does not sell to the general public but it shows off it's products. Maybe you should go to a gun show and learn something.
What gun show doesn't sell to the public?

The FOMO is real!

Divers want to see what's out there.

Perhaps a big part of what's driving this desire for the general dive public to gain access to DEMA is from crossing these 2 points. In this day and age of widespread Internet access to retail products, I have a question for those of you who've been to DEMA...

1.) Do you learn of the existence of, or significantly more about, new or upcoming scuba products?

2.) Is what you learn exclusive to DEMA participants?

3.) If so, how long does this exclusive access matter before the general public learns about the new dive computer, wetsuit, etc...?

Why don't you write to DEMA and posted the question?
I do not believe they owe anyone any explanation.
Just live with it.

"Divers want to see what's out there"!!!!!
From USA or all over the world?
Manufacturers never ever launch their new products at the same time.

You're are definitely more intelligent than the average CCR diver. An annual trade show should be a major event for all concerned. People go to Las Vegas for entertainment and business.

The smart ones do. And it's always at international events. It's no big deal for me but I am speaking for new divers. For most, senility creeps up on you at an early age.

1. Yes.
2. Not usually, but occasionally there are rare exceptions.
3. If it is a "big reveal" then everyone with an internet connection knows about it within a few seconds.

Apparently you have never been to a Gun Show, the primary purpose at all but the NRA annual meetings is to actually sell firearms and merchandise. I have spent several thousand dollars purchasing merchandise and firearms at gun shows over the last 3.5 decades, although these days they tend to have higher prices than gun stores and no longer have the deals we used to get at them.

You mean like SHOT SHOW which is open to dealers like me, but not the general public like you? Lol. Google it. Largest gun show on the planet every year, not opened to the public.
