I just don't log dives
Greetings! I love diving. Just wish I could do it more often. It's been almost 20 years since my husband and I were certified on a tiny island off of Palawan, Philippines. We did all our first dives in the ocean. It was amazing.

I love diving in the tropics. Living in WA State, I rarely have any opportunities to dive. My husband, who is a volunteer with the local Sheriff's dive team, would love for me to get dry suit certified, but I'm just not ready for that. I get cold diving in warm water!

My two oldest kids are now Open Water certified and we were able to take our first family dive trip to Florida last fall. My youngest will be 10 this year, and I'm hoping she will want to join the fun, too!

One of my most amazing dive trips happened mid 2000s to Xcalak, Mexico. We were getting our Advanced Open Water certification. The visibility was off the charts! We did a 100 ft dive and we could look up and clearly see the sunshine playing on the surface of the water.

I've been blessed to dive in a variety of locations: Palawan, Philippines; Xcalak and Akumal, Mexico; Sodwana Bay and Aliwal Shoal, South Africa; Florida Keys; Jupiter, FL; Blue Heron Bridge, FL; Rainbow River, FL; Blue Grotto, FL; Devil's Den, FL.

My husband has spent quite a bit more time on ScubaBoard, and has done a LOT more diving than I have. But we are getting ready to celebrate our 20th anniversary with a trip to Cancun/Cozumel and we wanted to get the latest on diving in the Riviera Maya.

Thanks for a fun dive community!

Most (not all, but most) dry suit divers in Puget Sound stay warm enough to make it enjoyable. However, there are a few that I have seen that use battery powered electric thermals for that little extra warmth. Might be worth doing some research.

Yes, you are right. There are options. My husband insists that he is comfortable, even in mid 30 degree water. Maybe I'm just chicken. LOL

Have you ever been skiing? Do you have enough layers of clothes to stay warm while skiing? The ski slopes are around 30° also.
