I am looking for a Vintage Double Hose Phoenix 1st stage for my RAM. VDH is out of stock, so if anyone has a used one they'd like to sell I'm buying. It looks like this:

Yeah, I'm too am patiently waiting Bryan to get back to "normal" as his contract production facilities obviously are struggling to get back on line....

If you have a RAM you do not need a Phoenix 1st stage. The Phoenix replaced the 1st stage on a DA to make it a RAM.

True, but the Phoenix also adds HP and LP ports. Which may be part of AD's reasons. An alternative is to use a RAM or Cyclone, in conjunction with an LP splitter off the hookah port and a valve with an HP port. Not as clean as the Phoenix, but works well for me.

Respectfully,

James

I hate the thought of taking a perfectly good RAM and "bastardizing" it.

I would trade my overhauled/upgraded (by Bryan) DA (without a Phoenix) with a banjo fitting and gauge to him and take the RAM - to preserve the history. :)

Yep, turning a DH into a more useful regulator for day to day modern diving. I have a Voit Navy that I need to get into service and a Phoenix and HPR will go in whenever I find them, I wish I still had my Kraken with the cracked can because the Navy with the Kraken guts would be perfect.

There is no physical alteration to it, and all the parts can be put back in it at any time. I have 4 Ziploc baggies that could achieve this (though why, I'd never know)....

HP/LP ports aside, I would have to defer to @Luis H to comment to the performance updates these (Phoenix/HPR/DBE) make between a stock Royal and a PRAM....

I don't, especially if it helps me to use it how ever I wanted too. It already has a Cyclone 1st stage a duckbill eliminator, HPR 2nd stage and a silicone diaphragm. The originals are as they say, history.
I'm not starting a museum of trying to preserve history.

My aim is to use a DH to take pictures and videos of pretty fish that often are frighten of exhaust bubbles from a SH.

If I was 25 I might consider a RB but since I'm much older I'll go the cheaper route. I don't like the banjo fitting I have the O ring keeps falling out and it's difficult to juggle the reg and fitting while mounting it to the tank, with my old hands.

Thanks for your input.
