Anyone know what's up with these guys? No email responses lately. The website and 2020 schedule hasn't been updated in months, then today I see the website is down. Was hoping to dive with them in March/April.

No answer to emails = not getting my business. It's 2020 after all.

2020 in Indonesia not the same as 2020 in North America.

I'd give them the benefit of the doubt until proven that they're closed down.

They get good reviews

Their shop was still open in LBJ in Dec, as I walked past it

The company owners separated a while ago. One started The Dive Republic, which is in the old Wicked shop. and has the Jaya, Wicked still have the Dorm boat

We had similar with our operator, having their Website down just before our trip. It was nothing more than a Hosting problem (not payment)

Wicked though wouldn't be my choice of operator, they're not the company they were

Just came over to report this.
I'm pretty disappointed...

Not sure which other Liveaboard to go for, as they seemed very reasonable.

It is a shame, isn't it?

Perhaps once the dust settles, each of the two companies will be able to get back on point.

It's been a while already

My original post was Incorrect - the New Centre is Scuba Republic no Dive Republic.

I know quite a bit about the behind the scenes reasons but I'm not going to air that dirty laundry. However

The Cruise Director for Wicked, is a good experienced guy - If Wicked have gone down he'll be somewhere else in the region

Scuba Republic Own the Jaya, which is in Raja and her Cruise Director is one of the most experienced in the region. The Jaya was one of the few wooden liveaboards that made the Banda Sea crossing unscathed last season (a number went down in the storms- not reported widely)

The Jaya is a basic vessel though, we enjoyed our trip but probably wouldn't use her again - only because we like a little more comfort

Scuba Republic - have a link with Current Junkies which is a fab boat out of Komodo, however it's for small groups (4 max 5 if you charter the whole boat), however their business model is, as the name suggests heading for the current - and is not for everyone.

I will get around to completing my Current Junkies trip report soon
