Doesn't look right to me, as it does not show an escape hatch above 10U and 27U. More "news" I guess.

That, and it shows an escape hatch out of the forepeak tank, not the shower room. Although there had to be one out of the shower room as well somewhere.

But the one out of the berthing area has been described as back by the exit from the salon/eating area. Which makes sense if it is above bunk 10U/27U

So you mean there are 2 emergency hatches, one in the bunk area and the other in the shower?

It's amazing to me that we can get 80 some pages into a 4 day old accident and false issues like having 02 tanks aboard are still brought up. It would be the same to me if someone came on here and posted "the hatches were locked"

Yeah, it's a lot of pages to go thru, but if one is going to opine as to the cause, shouldn't one educate themselves beforehand?

OK back to the thread

Yes, If I were king, I order supervised smoke detectors throughout boats of this size.
This seems logical, until you consider a smoke detector within a few feet of a grill.

Hi Wookie,

As I recall, there was a vertical hatch from the shower room into the anchor locker. From there I believe you could exit the anchor locker. I think it was well labeled and operable. I could be wrong, but that is what I remember. I may be confusing other boats of similar design with Conception.

Just drawing attention to this (emphasis mine)

According to the captain of the Grape Escape, one of the crew said he looked into the salon to see if he could get to the passengers. Burning pieces of the ceiling were already falling and the entire salon was engulfed. There was nothing the crew could do but jump before they died as well.

And to this

and this boat had outlets in berthing..

Yes, that would make sense. The rule is that there be an escape hatch from “normally occupied spaces”. The forepeak is not a normally occupied space, but every other space on the boat would have been, unless there was a lazarette I haven’t seen.

I have read most of all of the thread and seen pictures of the charging station. But I do not recall knowing the exact location. Could someone educate me on that please. My current working knowledge is that it was at the stern of the salon.

As I recall the "charging stations" at least the ones I used on the Vision were not at a cabinet of shelf but sort of behind the bench seats, in the area between the vertical and horizontal cushions, on fiberglass. All along the edges of the mess. Which is where the plugs were. Someone please correct me if I am wrong here? Hopefully not thinking of another boat

You are correct. There is not an actual charging station but a series of outlets around the perimeter of the salon.
